Have you actually read any of the history of the clusterfrak between Patton and Ike and MacArthur? Did you even know that Ike worked FOR MacArthur early on and that it was a complete political mess?

Not to mention that this has nothing to do with the original analogy....giving that Patton did INDEED need to retreat many times in order to win the greater war.

There are two ways to not hold on to a position...retreat or advance.
While retreat can be useful, it is my opinion that Palin has not retreated but advanced.
She is doing much more damage to the enemy now than she would have by 'holding her postion'.

I don't see how, while interesting, the relationships between Patton, Ike and MacArthur are relevant.
