Mika: ‘Cut The Crap’ On Whether Palin’s Running—’She Is’

Mika Brzezinski wants to "cut the crap" when it comes to building speculation as to whether Sarah Palin will run for president in 2012. According to Mika, Palin's candidacy is a done deal, and the press is letting itself be sucked into a phony build-up.
Mika is so sure that Sarah is running that on today's Morning Joe she was willing to wager a dubious Jonathan Capehart $1,000. Brzezinski's comments came in response to Politico's report, highlighted by Mike Allen, that Palin has raised significant money and built a nascent campaign staff.

She should have ridden out the sh!tstorm for at least one term. Granted, it would have been hell, but it would have proven her mettle to those beyond conservatives. Most Americans (outside of the Freepers) are likely she will now cut and run when the going gets too rough... No, it wouldn't have been hell.
Do you have any clue what would have been involved?

People were calling for Scott Brown to be the Rep nominee the DAY after he was elected to the Senate... Perhaps, but not here...any attempt would have been swiftly routed.

You are delusional if you think that hasn't been going on already.
It's now old news. The MSM now seems petty if they try to resurrect it.
We're coming close to a tipping point on the MSM, and Sarah may be the the person who makes it happen.

Stormin’ Norman. It was reported that he has a genius IQ. I always admired his press conferences. I could vote for him, if his stance on the issues are right.

Yes, I do. I concur that it would have been Hell, but so is a Presidential campaign. Its grueling, exhausing, mindlessly repetitive, and humiliating. But...the Presidency is important enough that we put the people in that position through the ringer to make sure they can take it.

You are delusional if you think that hasn't been going on already. You're delusional if you think that what she's gone through so far is the worst that people will throw at her.
To: DouglasKC
Can you seriously imagine the fallout if she didn't endorse McCain? You don't even have to spin that as disloyal with the public. It's the smart move politically. McCain is way too old and his tactics are way too known. He's not going to have any influence in a (hopefully) conservative dominated legislature. And Fiorina?
To: gogeo
Perhaps, but not here..There was a lot of it here.

The fact we have the quality of politicians we do is laid at the doorstep of people like you...and no, that's not a compliment toward you or the typical politician.
Stop dodging the facts. Staying in the Governor's office would have ruined her politically and, more important, financially. The Palins had already taken a $550K hit from legal fees, with no end in sight.
We aren't merely talking about someone saying mean things about her, and to imply that's all that's involved...well, defend it.
Since, I guess, in your eyes that's no big deal, why don't you explain what a $500K hit on your personal finances would do?

So, I guess you’d rather hand the Presidency over to a Fred Thompson type? Old Fred wanted the GOP nomination handed to him on a silver platter without working for it.
BTW, I don’t condone what the Left was attempting to do to Sarah Palin. But, as I posted earlier, there will be other pressures brought to bear on a President. While different in nature, they are likely just as (if not more) intense. You don’t want someone who is just going to up and quit ‘cause its easier to do that than it is to stay and fight. I disliked Bill Clinton immensely but I’ll give him his due—he wasn’t a quitter.
Honestly, you and your ilk are deluding yourself if you think Palin is electable.

Step up, son...you think a $500K hit on personal finances is no big deal, part of the price of "serving" you.
Again, what would a $500K hit on your personal finances mean?
No big deal, right?
Address it, or recognize you are talking out your @ss.

No, I’m pretty sure I know what I’m taling about. If you think Sarah Palin couldn’t recoup $500K in a hearbeat after she left office, you’re very naive. Again, she only had to make it thru 2 more years to establish her bonifies. But she couldn’t (wouldn’t) do it.
Color me unsypathetic. And that’s all I have to say about that.

Color me unsypathetic. And thats all I have to say about that... IOW, you'd rather not address that.
That's fine, of course. But it reminds me of a sign I used to have on my desk...nothing is impossible if it's someone else's job.
Keyboard quarterbacks impress me not at all.
Put your own @ss and your own future, and that of your family on the line...then someone will care.
