DON'T GET NUKED
The Navy and Marine Corps rightly spend much of their time on chemical, biological and radiological training. As bombs and triggering devices become more mobile and terrorists become more sophisticated, it is important to prepare ourselves for disaster while hoping that it will be avoided.
Regarding chemical and biological warfare, it is especially difficult to believe that something so small and invisible can be so deadly and dangerous. Just a little toxin in the air . . . and the next thing you know you're doing the "funky chicken" on the ground. Bad attitudes can be like that, too! Invisible and deadly. So can negativity, apathy, lethargy, and passivity. You can't really see those invisible attitude-toxins. But they are deadly poison. Just one little taste . . . and destruction of the soul follows.
Prayer: Heavenly God and Protector of our lives ... Give us a zest for life. Protect us from all the poisons and toxins that threaten our soul and spirit. Help us to suit up with anticipation and excitement for all which life has to offer. Cause us to breathe in the fresh air of purity and righteousness. And, Lord, if there does come a time of destruction and war, protect us from any form of chemical, biological, or nuclear warfare. May common sense and peace prevail in this troubled world and bring us hope. Amen.

The Doers Of The World July 11, 2010
Just after we moved to a house in a new neighborhood, we invited my sister-in-law and her husband over for Sunday dinner. As we were greeting Sue and Ted at the door, an odd noise directed their eyes toward the kitchen. As I followed their gaze, I froze in horror. An errant hose of our old portable dishwasher was whipping about like the trunk of an angry elephant, spewing water everywhere!
Sue went into action mode. Dropping her purse, she was in the kitchen before me, shutting off the water and calling for towels and a mop. We spent the first 15 minutes of their visit on our knees mopping the floor.
Sue is a doerand the world is a better place because of the doers of the world. These are the people who are always ready to pitch in, to be involved, and even to lead if necessary.
Many of the doers of the world are also doers of the Word. These are the followers of Jesus who have taken the challenge of James to heart: Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only (1:22).
Are you doing all that you know God wants you to do? As you read Gods Word, put what youve learned into practice. First hearthen do. Gods blessing comes as a result of our obedience (v.25).
We need to hear the Word of God
To know what we should do,
But listening is not enough
Without our follow-through. Sper
The value of the Bible does not consist merely in knowing it, but in obeying it.
Read: James 1:19-27
Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only.
James 1:22

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools," -from THE BIBLE: Romans 1:20-22

Friday night I had stopped at the hospital on the way home to visit my coworker. I hadn’t been home long enough to get set up to post music when I can hear my Mom on the intercom saying bring down some gauze.
What happened? Dad hurt his hand. Off I go, get a look at it and said I’mm taking him to the ER. A little hemming and hawing about maybe just putting.....NO...too much chance of infection. He ripped it open on a nail. So off we went. He said the pain got intense a couple times waiting and during the doctor fix, but not today. Now to keep it dry and let it heal.

Well, poor guy...give him a big hug for me and I hope it heals soon.
I know as wounds dry; they get tight and itchy.
For me, putting anything that itches in cold water stops the itch, but if he has to keep it dry, that won’t work.

The doc used derma bond, skin super glue, and a q-tip to put all the skin back where it belonged. Besides keep it dry, she said, “Do NOT pick at the edges”. We will see if the itches develop in the next 5 to 10 days. This is the first time I've seen super glue used.
