The Truth About Illegals
American Spectator ^ | 7/10/2010 | Ion Mihai Pacepa

Posted on 07/10/2010 5:01:57 AM PDT by IbJensen

The recent arrest of ten Russian illegal officers targeted against us -- a superb performance on the part of our intelligence and law enforcement agencies -- proves that the Kremlin still looks upon the United States as the main enemy. Most of the details about these new cases are still classified by the FBI. One thing is clear, however; this is not just business as usual -- "we spy, they spy."

The Kremlin's illegal officers have traditionally been dispatched to enemy countries to form an alternative presence there, should war break out and force the legal embassies to close; and to constitute a "homegrown" skeleton of the pro-Moscow governments that the Kremlin dreamed of setting up in those countries at the end of the war. In other words, vitally important assignments.

Today, most of the American media seem to find the notion of illegal officers a joke, calling them spy-novel fantasies, hilariously funny characters or do-nothing sleepers. No wonder. There are no books on the subject. The true nature of illegal operations, unique to the Russian intelligence community, has been an extremely tightly held secret. In 1964 I became a deputy chief of the Romanian foreign intelligence service, the DIE, but it was only eight years later that I realized now little I had actually known -- that was when my former KGB adviser, General Aleksandr Sakharovsky, by then the Soviet Union's spy chief, gave me supervisory authority over Romania's illegal operations.

The term "illegal" has nothing to do with the idea of law breaking. Every spy breaks the law. In Russian intelligence terminology, a legal officer is one who is assigned abroad to a Russian embassy or other official government representation.

Just when I thought the intelligence agencies had some resemblance of original thought and actions.

It is a beyond disgusting that the possibility the pretender-n-thief, otherwise known as the president, may have known and does know of the Communist party members. They welcomed him into their ranks and he was supported by them. I now wonder who is he protecting and to what expense is he willing to risk anything for the safety of these United States?

This swap deal is just a little too fast for this American's comfort level.

Obama was lightning-fast in delivering these folks to the Russians, even before a trial.

Yet we have millions who are GUILTY just by the fact of their BEING here...and it's ho hum, we have to make their stay here comfortable.

I know, two different issues. But he wears his feelings on his sleeve, and you can see what he is and is not passionate about. And in the end, I can just imagine the Russians are feeling pretty good about themselves in terms of dealing with him, and getting what they want.

The swap was inevitable. Don’t forget they had been onto these people for years, back into Bushes terms as well.
There’s only one reason the swap was done. It was done because there’s one sentence that would destroy US-Russia relations.
“When i was briefed by Putin.”
Is there any doubt the old spymaster himself was involved?
He is the de facto ruler of Russia today. Who would trust him?
This is simply a method of continuing the same old same old.Its disgusting to you and I but its how politicians work.

I read that some among this group of 10 spies were close to “think tanks” that were connected with Obama. I assume these were mostly leftwing organizations of some sort that may have participated in getting Barry elected.

Personally, it would not surprise me in the least to find that Obama was a Communist plant from the beginning. His lack of a past and his “disappeared” records all make sense in this context, particularly if he had been groomed to do this since his early youth.

I think that Bambi has gone a little off the rails, though, even for the Russians. They thought the Islamic touch would be just a little extra, and they didn’t count on what an absolute nutcase their little Barry was. So now, while he’s still a Marxist and will do their bidding, he is also emerging on his own as a Muslim fascist dictator with a major racial/religious agenda. I don’t think they counted on this, and they may be as uneasy as we are now. In other words, he has become a rogue agent.

IT IS VERY DIFFICULT to identify an illegal living in the West under a new biography. I approved many such biographical legends. All were supported by Western birth certificates, school diplomas, pictures of alleged relatives, and even fake graves.

Interesting, bump.

This article could have been written about Obama.

The speed at which this all transpired is indeed troubling. Oh, if only we could swap this entire administration for a few freedom loving Russians!

“This swap deal is just a little too fast for this American’s comfort level.”

Without a doubt the swap was carried out to prevent any possibility of the ten revealing details about Obama, many of his cabinet members and a great number of communists deeply planted in Congress. The average American dismisses this as “fringe conspiracy nonsense”, but it is fact. The enormous gaps in Obama’s paper trail are but one example of how thoroughly and deeply infiltrated the communists are.
Who could have dared imagine that anyone could be elected to public office in the U.S. with such glaring evidence of a cover up? And no one seems to care.

A must read. This author is among my favorites and his experiences provide details found nowhere else in the media. National Security under Obama has been taken down another notch. I’m sure these spies were all “Mirandized” as well.

Helluva job, Bammy! Moron.

Well, at least they did 10 years ago when the cell was set up.

The USSR breakup was still relatively recent.

I think they view us as their main enemy now, but they have ALWAYS hated China.

Remember they humiliated the PRC Army with their border incursions, where the PRC response was to throw snowball at their tanks?

Anna Chapman’s father was a spymaster and he was stationed in Kenya at the same time Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. was visiting...Illegals only have personal meetings in a third country...Where is the birth certificate?

Wow! That's interesting.

I suspect that Barry's mother was probably also a Communist agent.

What I would like to know is who exactly had the authority and who made the decision to immediately get the spies out of the country before they could talk. It would seem that there would be some judicial and executive inertia involved, as well as a fervent desire to interrogate the illegals, not to mention negotiations with the Russians. Hmmm. Stroke of the pen, spies are gone.

But as a plant he’s not a good one — Raymond in “The Mchurian Candidate” was better — a decorated war hero, the stepson of a senator — a good plant wouldn’t have all these weird gaps abd blank spots in his resume.

But as a plant he’s not a good one

That would depend on what his role is meant to accomplish. Perhaps the complete stonewalling of the requests for explanation of those gaps serves a purpose in the reconditioning of the American psyche.

False proof of the transfer of power from the People to the state. If that's the case, I think it's not working out too well for them.
