One of the things thats starting to emerge on the Republican side of the political struggle is a world view that can be called the Palin Doctrine. Its remarkable that none of the other leading figures in the party has come to be associated with a particular foreign policy trajectory. Can one think, say, of a Pawlenty Doctrine or a Daniels Doctrine or a even a Perry or a Schwartzenegger or a Romney Doctrine? They each have their own bona fides, but developing the outlines of a coherent foreign policy view isnt one of them.
Governor Palin, by contrast, has been starting to give us a glimpse what could be expected of her in foreign affairs. This has been occurring in public appearances and broadcasts and, most pointedly, in a posting on June 30 her Facebook. So while the left has been mocking her for a supposed lack of depth or learning, she has been filling in, line by line, a picture of her foreign policy views, ranging over topics from the Navy (shes for an expansion of the fleet), to a view of the war (shes a hawk), to a view of the dollar (shes against a weak dollar strategy), to a view of Israel (unflinching support).
This isn't the first time talk of a Palin Doctrine has been in the news. As far back as September 2008, the phrase occurred in, among other places, a column by Arianna Huffington who likened Mrs. Palins to Dick Cheney. With lipstick. She noted, however, that the governors doctrine was still under construction. In the two years since then, the Alaskan has honed an increasingly cohesive and detailed world view.(continued)

I've been trying to convince my fellow conservatives that they have been wasting their time in a fruitless quest for a new Ronald Reagan to emerge and lead our party and our nation. I insisted that we'd never see his like again because he was one of a kind.
I was wrong! Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my Dad reborn; only this time he's a she. And what a she! This was Ronald Reagan at his best -- the same Ronald Reagan who made the address known now solely as "The Speech," which during the Goldwater campaign set the tone and the agenda for the rebirth of the traditional conservative movement that later sent him to the White House for eight years and revived the moribund GOP. Welcome back, Dad, even if you're wearing a dress and bearing children this time around.
~Michael Reagan, radio show host and son of President Ronald Reagan
I note they just had to use the word "breast" in there.
her willingness to breast the politically correct line on Israel.
"To breast" - what the heck? Just say 'challenge', or 'break' or 'shatter' in this context.
It time to dump the Obama regime and replace with the Palin Doctrine.
I’ve said it all along - Governor Palin is playing 3D chess while everybody else is playing checkers. The differences between a President Palin and the current misadministration are light years apart.
Mrs. Palin has grasped that for every critic of American power there are thousands who comprehend that it is a force for freedom and democracy. Say what one will about her, but she is staking out ground that almost no Democrat and far too few Republicans have staked out. Its the mark of a leader, and its hard not to think that it will prove promising ground to hold when we get closer to the election in 2012.
I’ve been flying my “Sarah 2012” bumper stickers on my cars in the liberal cesspool of Charlotte, NC since Jeff Head made them available shortly after the last election. You should see the idiots beating their steering wheels in rage behind me at the lights. Of course the best is the old ladies that give the thumbs up as they go by.
I have the “you can keep the change: Palin 2012” myself
and the most welcome part of all: MRS. Palin
Many male FReepers are beating their breasts in despair and putting on sackcloth and ashes over that part.
Cheers!

We do not want Sarah as a lover or a wife... WE WANT HER AS OUR PRESIDENT! We can look... it is in the rule book.

How about “Don’t Blame Me, I voted for Sarah” from www.jeffhead.com?
She’s never let her eye off the ball. And I hope she HAS been studying under Cheney (both Dick and Liz) and others like Alexander Vondra who get it.
There are those like Obama that would be happy to sing ‘we are the world’ and hold hands with the enemies and there are those of us that fight every single day on the front lines and behind the scenes to see that freedom and a democratic way of life remain for the U.S. and free nations everywhere, including the naive peaceniks among us.
Palin a “populist”? Surely you jest. Huckabee is a populist—not Palin. She takes on the serious issues and expresses opinions about them. And she has proven herself in the political arena as Alaska’s governor. Populists are people who dwell on fringe or secondary emotional issues in an attempt to whip up the crowd.
What, exactly, made you conclude Palin is a populist? And how does her desire for America to return to its Constituional and Capitalist roots, her stance on abortion (life or death), public education and a militarily strong America make her a populist?
In case you haven’t seen this yet, Ray Stevens has a new song/video in support of Palin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yG9LqX6xGpQ
