(Reuters) - Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer's edge over Republican challenger Carly Fiorina has dwindled to 3 points as she seeks re-election in November, with more Californians now holding an unfavorable view of the three-term senator, a poll released on Thursday showed.
Boxer, who once held a 30-point lead over Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett Packard and a political novice, is now ahead by a margin of only 47 percent to 44 percent, the Field Poll found.
One of President Barack Obama's staunchest allies who has become a powerful liberal voice in the Senate since she was first elected in 1992, Boxer is facing her toughest challenge yet, as a wave of anti-incumbent sentiment sweeps the nation.
California, normally a reliably Democratic state suffering from double-digit unemployment and a budget deficit running into tens of billions of dollars, is considered a potential bellwether in the coming congressional elections.
The Field Poll found that since January more Californians have become disgruntled with Boxer, with 52 percent of likely voters holding an unfavorable view of her, compared with just 41 percent who regard her favorably.
Boxer's ratings have dropped to some of the lowest levels of her 18-year career in the Senate, with only 42 percent of registered voters approving of her job performance and 43 percent disapproving.

You have me wrong. I’m not a strict ideologue. I agree with Reagan’s quote about someone who agrees 80% of the time is not 20% your enemy.
I’m a technology worker and observer. I watched the devastation that Fiorina brought to HP from afar. Just because Fiorina is just slightly better than Boxer doesn’t make Fiorina good.
Have you considered that accepting whatever politician carries the banner of your party is how we got to this mess? A situation where of the 535 members of Congress, there are probably less than 35 of them that are worthy of holding their jobs.

Believe it or not, there is a world outside of Free Republic.
You have only two choices.
The point being, there are Conservatives in California, but as long as big name RINOs refuse to back them, and lame brain Republicans in-state continue to vote for more RINOs this state will not turn around.
Do you realize that sound Conservative principles are rarely pushed in-state?
When they are, the people pushing them who have very little money to spend, still come fairly close to winning.
With party support, they could win.

Clearly I understood it, I picked out the fragment of information that was pertinent to the thread. I just found the layout of the page to be horrible. In addition, when there are programmatic ommissions on a site, the site’s amateurish nature undermines it’s message.
You think and respond like a liberal. You hammer away at your one point... McCain is the source of all evil, to the exclusion of all else. The site I posted has nothing flattering about Fiorina, but you wouldn’t know that because you’re too busy trying to build your “website”.

Boxer is the Queen of the "Thursday before the Tuesday" attack. She will have something very nasty that she will hold back until the very last minute. That's her SOP.

Actually, the people of CA have that choice, I’m in Ohio. But, it is the sad reality. Fiorina is clearly the better choice. Just as Bernie Madoff would be a better choice than Charles Manson.
My point is, if Fiorina is elected, she will require close scrutiny, and most likely will be a one term Senator.
So, you’d rather have the pure 100% marxist re-elected then, rather than take the 20% conservative votes Fiorina will give.
You, and people like you, don’t seem to understand the liberal states such as CA. A Scott Brown or Carly Fiorina is their idea of a conservative, and probably the best we can hope for from those states until the tide turns in their mindsets.
So, stay home, and teach the RINOs another lesson, just like many did in 2008 - which gave us a communist in the WH. Now, that’s what I call destroying us from within.

I will support the one that is the most in line with my beliefs.
In primaries it is always the most conservative.
I am aware of what Fiorina did and do not like it. That is why I supported DeVore. But he lost and contrary to what the troll on this sight says, Boxer is a socialist dictator by nature JUST LIKE HITLER and STALIN.
And no what got us to this mess is conservative states like North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Indiana, some southern states, some Midwestern states, ect. voting for some of the most liberal rats we have in our senate. They do this against their strong conservative nature because the rats ‘bring home the bacon’ or they are too stupid to see them for what they are, even after voting for years with a 10% conservative rating.
And we in our wisdom worry about some worthless RINO from the second most liberal state in the union.
And believe it or not, there is Conservatism inside that outside world, and even within California. Why is it that no other state in that real outside world contributes as much to this forum as Californian’s do?

I know what you are saying. America has a habit of electing wealthy less than optimums as Senators. In Tennessee we somehow elected Al gore and now Carthage his home doesn’t even have a sign celebrating his home place.

You know, I spend lots of time developing documentation to herald what McCain stands for, because I don’t like what he or Boxer have been up to. I don’t like the people she hangs out with, or the bills she supports in the U. S. Senate.
When McCain is revealed to stand for this nonsense too, hand out with the very same people, I get snarky comments from folks who wish to frame me as Boxer’s best friend.
Calling me Boxer, doesn’t further your argument. It merely makes you look like a person who can’t deal with the truth.
I do not support fellow travelers of John McCain, Carly Fiorina, or Barbara Boxer. And I’m about the only person on this thread who has made that abundantly clear.
