The recent global day against the imminent stoning of Sakine Mohammadi-Ashtiani in Iran for adultery is an example of the outrage sparked by the brutality associated with sharia law's penal code.
What of its civil code though which the Muslim Council of Britain's Shaykh Ibrahim Mogra describes as "small aspects" that concern "marriage, divorce, inheritance, custody of children"? According to human rights campaigner Gita Sahgal, "there is active support for sharia laws precisely because it is limited to denying women rights in the family. No hands are being cut off, so there can't be a problem "
Now a report, Sharia Law in Britain: A Threat to One Law for All and Equal Rights, reveals the adverse effect of sharia courts on family law. Under sharia's civil code, a woman's testimony is worth half of a man's. A man can divorce his wife by repudiation, whereas a woman must give justifications, some of which are difficult to prove. Child custody reverts to the father at a preset age; women who remarry lose custody of their children even before then; and sons inherit twice the share of daughters.

Yeah, bring on Sharia Law, the leftist adulterers don’t realize that it will call for a rock concert in their honor... i.e. public stoning, and they think Christian and Jews are backwards! They have no idea what they are asking for. The old saying “jumping from the frying pan into the fire” applies here.
Ding, ding, ding, ding. Stop FR. - We have the FR Post of the Day.
Once again, this goes to prove the ages old maxim that is always forgotten by every generation:
You can't beat something with nothing
And you cannot defeat people who believe in something with people who believe in nothing.
There is no true freedom outside of Christianity. Libertinism leads to totalitarianism. Islam leads to totalitarianism.
>Economic collapse for us = Arab collapse.
100% correct.
But we aren’t talking about Arabs. - Even the Iranians aren’t Arab.
We are talking about Islam, and that is something else entirely.
People often ask why the gays, feminists, and the left in general doesn’t oppose Islam for its anti-gay, anti-feminist, anti-libertine doctrines.
Its because they’re both working for the same “guy”. The left’s ideological father is the same entity as is behind the moongod cult. And he coordinates their efforts and limits the bickering amongst his troops.

Basically sharia law is the bizarro world version of law. It is law created by very stupid people (stupid males) in order for tthe people in power under sharia law, stupid males, to practice cruelty on females and anyone else who isn’t a cruel, very stupid male. The more stupider and cruel you are, the more likely you will be attracted to sharia law and all its wondeful manifestations...stonings, honor killings, beheadings of innocent people, and the like.
An economic collapse in the Arab lands would result in French Revolution style reaction. I am not one to wish death on others but anarchy over there is a richly deserved fate.
Just as a point of information shariah doesn't have 'equal status' now. Statute and common law always trump shariah in the English courts.

I think that you need to look into the darkness of your own heart here. You seem to have an extreme problem with 1/2 the worlds population.
Sharia law is just as flawed as the US law and is administered by flawed people just like US judges. The only difference is that in the US (for the most part) the law gives women a pass (and most of the power when talking about family law and rape/sexual harassment charges) whereas Sharia it’s the (Muslim) males in the drivers seat. People decry the cruelty of the Sharia laws and the unfairness towards women but look at the results from a different perspective, which society has the most intact families? Which society is growing in population? Not everything is measured in terms of how big is your TV or the house that it’s sitting in, nor is advanced technology necessarily a good measure of success.
Would I like to be under Sharia law? No, as a Christian it would suck, but it sucks being under US law as well and I’m not too sure that it sucks more or less than Sharia law would. At least under Sharia law I would not be worried every time I play with my 6 year old niece that I’ll be accused of inappropriate “touching” and have my life destroyed by the overactive imagination of her or her mother.
Good to know! But according to this article, it does seem in practice that sharia actually does govern in many places (at least Muslim immigrant communities).
Fine, you go live in a country that’s ruled by sharia law. All those countries have great traditions of ruling by force, discriminating against and persecuting non-believers, those “wonderful” honor killings, and general antipathy to modern western democratic ideals. I’ll look in the darkness of my heart while you look at the vapidity of your statement.
All countries “rule by force”, just try not paying child support because you’re unemployed and see what happens. And what are all those guys dressed in black breaking into houses in the middle of the night? Oh, its the SWAT guys. Also, Christians certainly seem to be discriminated against and persecuted here in the good old US of A (although not to the extreme that they are in Muslim countries, yet). As for “wonderful” honor killings they don’t happen nearly as often as you would think but lets compare them to all the women that get off practically scott free killing their husband/BF (Mary Winkler for one)by claiming abuse. But like I said as a Christian it would suck to live under Muslim rule but it also sucks to live under current US law.
You’re blinded by your hatred for 1/2 of the population and I seriously doubt you’ll see that as a problem until it’s too late.
Like I said, if you think Sharia law is so great, go live in a country that is governed by it. As a matter of interest, since it appears living in the U.S. is so awful, why don’t you?
You’re out of your freaking mind. Totally. You say you are a Christian.
Are you just clueless? You don’t know that non-Muslims are (at best) second hand citizens under Sharia? They have to pay extra tax if they don’t convert? Those are the lucky ones, that aren’t killed.
A little taste of the “bad medecine” always brings to light the nasty effects, no matter how much one rationalizes things at the onset.
