Last night, my family and a few in-laws were enjoying ourselves at Lake Grapevine. About 30 minutes before the fireworks started, I heard from a group nearby, "VIVA MEXICO"!
Instead of shouting something derogatory about Mexico, I shouted out "VIVA LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS"! The "Viva Mexico" shouts stopped abruptly.
1. America the Beautiful
2. God Bless America
3. An old Army marching song, in a tribute to our troops (from an old "cherry jumper"):
"C-130 rollin' down the strip,
Airborne Daddy gonna take a little trip..."
As the festivities ended, nearby parties seemed to take a more circuitous route to the cars than I had expected...LOL!
I never understand. If they love Mexico (which is fine by me) why don’t they go back? They should go to Mexico and make it a wonderful place. Instead, they come here. If they think the US is a wonderful place to be, they should love the US. But they don’t. It makes no sense.
“long live the united states” not if obummer has anything to do with it.
She's probably right, but I'm not putting up with the kind of stuff I used to put up with.
Shouts of “Remember the Alamo, we’ll meet you at San Jacinto!” could have been fun.
...and shout "Scoreboard!"
Damn, I wish I would have thought of that! LOL!
Good on you and your son!
God Bless the USA!
Mexican farm workers in my area had a sign up at their meeting hall that said: “Los Alamos”. It’s not there anymore. Don’t know what happened.
GGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!
maybe they thought you meant viva los estados unidos mexicanos?
I don’t know what they were saying at our celebration here in Alice, Texas. It was mostly in Spanish. Some of us white people were able to understand the broken English of the speakers and had to sit through Tejano music for entertainment. You would have never thought that you were in the United States.
Sign of things to come to those north of us in the near future.
Miguel Perez, President of Cal-State Northridges MEChA chapter said, The ultimate ideology is the liberation of Aztlan. Communism would be closest. Once Aztlan is established, ethnic cleansing would commence: Non-Chicanos would have to be expelled opposition groups would be quashed because you have to keep power.

Thought you’d like that.
I think one reason we are where we are today is that we just ignored it. You are right to push back.
Remember the Alamo, remember Goliad!

It’s been getting bad for the past ten years, but I think it’s really ramped up in the last six months or so. I used to hear a smattering of Spanish, but it’s possible to go to the mall in the Dallas suburbs without hearing English at all now. My family went to an Olive Garden, and all they heard around them was Spanish. Just last year, that wasn’t the case. You’d hear families speaking it here and there, but a whole restaurant and the wait staff? It’s getting worse.
My sister had a similar incident at a public water park where she had taken her son for his birthday. These Hispanics were speaking English, but they were throwing out the F word—with kids all around—while talking about Arizona. One of my sister’s party glared at them, and they started saying, “Don’t look at me, white MFer. I got my documents. Want me to get it from the car and show you?”
Our turds have a clean end?
