Sheryl Crow: Tea Partiers are too Uneducated to Understand Whats Happening on Wall Street By Alana Goodman Created 06/28/2010 - 16:39 Pop-star and courageous anti-toilet-paper crusader [0] Sheryl Crow apparently has a new political concern: Tea Partiers.
The country crooner told CBS journalist Katie Couric that Tea Party members are uneducated, angry and potentially dangerous in an interview [1] with Glamour magazine this June.
After Crow complained in the interview that Americans have become too blasé about politics, and that nobody has taken to the streets to cause "a riot or a revolution," Couric correctly pointed to the Tea Party as an example of modern day activism.
"What do you think of the Tea Party movement? Because that is the specific sort of group of people who would say we're out there, we're getting involved in the process...," asked Couric.
"I appreciate the fact that those people are out there and that they are fired up," responded Crow, before adding that Tea Partiers "haven't educated themselves...they're just pissed off."
"My main concern is that [the Tea Party is] really fear-based," said Crow, a cancer survivor and environmental activist. "What's coming out of the Tea Party most often, especially if you go onto YouTube, and you see some of the interviews with these people who really don't even know what the issues are, they're just swept up in the fear of it and the anger of it."
"They're not sure what they're angry at," Crow continued. "[T]hey don't understand what's happening on Wall Street."
The singer also worried that the "uneducated" and "angry" Tea Partiers could even become dangerous. "[K]nowledge is power, and anything less than that when it comes to anger can be dangerous," said Crow.
But before she snubbed the education level of Tea Partiers again, maybe Crow should have checked out this New York Times poll [2], which found Tea Party members to be "more educated than the general public."
The Grammy-award winning songstress could also serve to learn a thing or two from the Tea Partiers - in the past she's come under fire for her own bone-headed remarks. In 2007, Crow was mocked across the political spectrum for suggesting in a Huffington Post column [3] that people should use "only one square [of toilet paper] per restroom visit" in order to conserve trees.
Other ideas in Crow's 2007 column included using a reusable "dining sleeve" instead of a dinner napkin, and a creating a "greenest lifestyle" contest for aspiring musicians.
Crow later backed away [3] from her statements, claiming they were merely brilliant satire written in order to bring attention to the dire threat of climate change.
Later in her June Glamour magazine interview with Couric, Crow slammed Karl Rove and other conservatives for harping on her toilet paper idea. She claimed this was done "[j]ust to discredit me and to make me look silly."
Sherly Crow—a one sheet wonder.
The has been hippie is having acid relapse combined with menopause casing severe liberal hallucinations.
Here is how it works.
Eight Commandments of the Liberal Left recast from Irving Janis (Yale) groupthink behaviors.
I
Thou shalt create an illusion of invulnerability shared by most members to foster excessive optimism and encourage extreme risks taking
II
Thou shall not allow any member to question the group's inherent morality, instead members shall be encouraged to ignore the ethical or moral consequences of their decisions
III
Thou shalt promote collective efforts to rationalize in order to discount warnings, or other information that might lead members to reconsider their assumptions before they recommit themselves to their assumptions
IV
Thou shalt reinforce stereotyped views of enemy leaders as too evil to warrant genuine attempts to negotiate, or as too weak and stupid to counter whatever risky attempts are made to defeat their purpose
V
Thou shalt self-censor any deviation from the apparent group consensus, inclining each member to minimize the importance of their doubts and counterarguments
VI
Thou shalt create and maintain a shared illusion of unanimity concerning judgement conforming to the majority view
VII
Thou shalt apply direct pressure on any member who expresses strong arguments against any of the group's stereotypes, illusions, or commitments, making clear that this type of dissent is contrary to what is expected of all loyal members
VIII
Thou shalt appoint mindguards to protect the group from adverse information that might shatter their shared complacency about the effectiveness and morality of their decisions
I worked in CMO (derivatives of mortgage-backed securities) trading and risk management for 14 years at UBS, Bear Stearns, and Merrill Lynch. I also worked at a hedge fund, and had my own middle-markets fixed income trading business. The first Tea Party I ever attended was a few miles from that business in White Plains NY. The second was later that evening, two blocks from Wall Street, where the majority of attendees were in the financial industry.
I can speak for every single one of these people when I say that we understand Wall Street a tad better than Miss Crow, Barney Frank, Joe Biden, Chris Dodd, and possibly Tim Geitner.
The first time I ever saw the Crow I thought there was something odd about her that I just didn’t like, somehow she seemed unclean, no I am not joking, that is the feeling I got. Now I know that she is not very bright at all. I would wager that she is at least fifteen IQ points below the MEDIAN for people who attend Tea Party rallies. There are few things more annoying than a dimwitted person with a very unwarranted attitude of superiority. I don’t even like her singing and she seems to have nothing else to offer.
I suppose her education makes her in the know?
“While studying at Kennett High School, Crow was a majorette and an All-State track athlete, medaling in the 75-meter low hurdles. She also joined the Pep Club, the National Honor Society, Future Farmers of America, Freshman Maid, Senior Maid and Paperdoll Queen. She then enrolled at the University of Missouri, in Columbia, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Composition, Performance and Education. “
That BS degree in Music Composition, Performance and Education that you have Sheryl Crow must be where you picked up your great business knowledge. After all you know how to get by on one sheet of toilet paper per visit.
Wasn’t her “hit” a song about “All I wanna do is have some fun...”? Doesn’t sound too deep to me.
“Soak Up The Sun”
My friend the communist
Holds meetings in his RV
I can’t afford his gas
So I’m stuck here watching TV
I don’t have digital
I don’t have diddly squat
It’s not having what you want
It’s wanting what you’ve got
[CHORUS:]
I’m gonna soak up the sun
Gonna tell everyone
To lighten up (I’m gonna tell ‘em that)
I’ve got no one to blame
For every time I feel lame
I’m looking up o I’m gonna soak up the sun
I’m gonna soak up the sun
I’ve got a crummy job
It don’t pay near enough
To buy the things it takes
To win me some of your love
Every time I turn around
I’m looking up, you’re looking down
Maybe something’s wrong with you
That makes you act the way you do
Maybe i am crazy too
[CHORUS]
I’m gonna soak up the sun
While it’s still free
I’m gonna soak up the sun
Before it goes out on me
Don’t have no master suite
I’m still the king of me
You have a fancy ride, but baby
I’m the one who has the key
Every time I turn around
I’m looking up, you’re looking down
Maybe something’s wrong with you
That makes you act the way you do
Maybe I am crazy too
[CHORUS]
I’m gonna soak up the sun
Got my 45 on
So I can rock on.

At least I’m smart enough to know it takes more than one sheet to wipe my butt.
She has a song that starts with, “My friend the Communist...”
Maybe she was referring to Obama there.
Sherly Crowa one sheet wonder.
Another STFU and sing moment.

Yes. Coming from a Music Major. Must be a major Intellectual to pull that off....
Can be just as bad, because she has no idea who posted what she watched and she is clueless if they were even real or a plant.
You really have to do your homework. I think celebrities should especially do so before them comment on what they know little about.
