Obama Calling "Bluff" Of Those Complaining About Debt He Created
Realclearpolitics ^ | Sunday June 27, 2010

Posted on 06/27/2010 4:19:45 PM PDT by Bigtigermike

President Obama on controlling the debt: "Somehow people say, why are you doing that, I'm not sure that's good politics. I'm doing it because I said I was going to do it and I think it's the right thing to do. People should learn that lesson about me because next year when I start presenting some very difficult choices to the country, I hope some of these folks who are hollering about deficits and debt step-up because I'm calling their bluff. We'll see how much of that, how much of the political arguments that they're making right now are real and how much of it was just politics."

What a Piece of work this fraud is,He comes in Blaming Bush for Bringing us to the Brink Of fiscal Disaster then Proceeds to Pay off his Union Thugs and Government Workers ,Fannie and Freddie with Unlimited Trillions,Quadrupling the debt and then says he is going to call peoples Bluff by Sticking it to the “Little People” who are now going to pay taxes through the Nose to pay for all of it ,and Of course it is all Bushs Fault,Not Obama, who is going to tax everyone except those Making under 5 dollars, and FORCE you to Buy Insurance when it was he who castigated the Hildabeast for Proposing the same thing.
Now dont forget when you are forced to BUY health Insurance remember it is NOT unConstitutional,You Know why? Because they are not forcing you to buy it it is a Tax,you know like Social Security,at least that is What Holder is telling the Judges in Court so they wont throw it out as Unconstitutional, but they are not telling you it is a Tax it is your Health care plan, otherwise it is unconstitutional

Yes, can you imagine the sinking feeling these CEOs must have gotten in the pit of their stomachs when they realized the POTUS didn’t even understand basic economics?

I agree that it sounds as though this crazy man is deliberately trying to foment race wars, class riots, violent anarchy and whatever. And, yes, for Boxer to say “a peaceful transition to power” does sound ominous — because it refers to the alternative, a violent transition to power. What in Hell’s Bells is that about? It is like she was saying, “Well, normally, to get the kind of power we’re about to take from, and turn upon, the American people requires a brutal war against them, but this is one time in history where we’ll overtake the people without initial violence.”

And, yes, his method does appear to be to up the deficit and spending to unsustainable proportions, then to set up the “fix,” which obviously is going to be the “difficult choice” to HUGELY INCREASE TAXES and HUGELY DECREASE PERSONAL FREEDOM in various ways, in order to continue the wealth transfer payments to the other 50% of the nation. And any objectors will be threatened with being responsible for the horrible civil unrest that Obama — still doing his own version of Jeremiah “Whitey took our land” Wright directly used his office to foment.

It’s horrible.

I don’t read this as an economic threat.

I read this as Obama clearly stating the time he will enact the last vestiges of the Coup — the time he offers us the choice of dictatorship or our death.

I ask myself, why are the Dems going along with all this? Can they not see where this is going? Are all of them lemmings or actual Progressives?

It is VERY simple.

Value Added Tax

He said and has never said anything about cutting spending in any meaningful amount. If we add a 15 or 20 percent tax on everything it will pay for all their wonderful programs UNTIL THE ECONOMY GRINDS TO A HALT.

Atlas Shrugged anybody??

“He’ll cut these things and pretend shock when Republicans hint that perhaps other areas ought to be considered.”

Repubs may hint but what will they really say needs to be cut? I remember going through this when Reagan was president. He was going to enact massive spending cuts, but in the end, everybody chickened out. The Repubs were as much defenders of big government as the Dems, refusing to call for significant cuts to Social Security, or Medicare. Reagan proposed significant cuts in his own cabinet departments, where he had complete control of the budget, but one by one his cabinet appointees came by and explained why their particular department was the one whose budget could not be cut, and in fact, should be increased. In the end, even those small cuts failed to come to fruition.

It’s going to take a special kind of real conservative who will be willing to face the electorate and tell them that the party is over, nothing more for free. We have to pay for what we get. And that includes paying for wars as well. If we want lower taxes, we have to have lower spending. The thing is, all these groups that receive the freebies will be out to ruin the true conservative: the Social Security retirees, the Medicare recipients, the retired military, the farmers,...the list goes on and on. At this point, it’s virtual political suicide to actually recommend the cuts that it would take to balance the budget. So everyone is in favor of it, but no politician will say how to do it.

I must say, I’ve seen a lot of scary Obama photoshopped pictures, but nothing comes as close to being outright terrifying as this unphotoshopped one.

Truth is scarier than fiction.

what the hell does he mean by “call your bluff”

He's going to propose a series of outrageously high tax increases and dare the GOP to oppose them. If they do, he'll accuse them of fiscal irresponsibility. The brainless left-wing media will parrot this line and it will become the new mantra of the Democrats.

You've laid out the reasons why I think war is inevitable. Within the realm of standard politicking, get-out-the-vote, let's-appeal-to-various-voting-blocks, I do not think there is any way to balance the budget or curtail massive government spending. Neither party can do it. The voters don't really want them to do it.

So there will be war. And with a tremendous amount of luck, we may be able to rebuild a society, based on the old principles, which is put in place without having to worry about filibustering.

I'm not at all optimistic.

Or have they all been bought out? For what? Or threatened? With what?

There is too much marching in lock-step. Some of them should be backing off by now, distancing themselves.

Or is the media refusing to show that, too?

Sounds like the liar in chief is gonna raise more than our taxes for sure. He is paving the way to go after our 401’s. I wish someone would ask the sob about the unions. Talk about ‘politics’..(eye roll)...somehow they never have to have ‘skin in the game’!
