Several Senators have learned of a possible plan by the Obama Administration that would provide a mass Amnesty for the nation's 11-18 million illegal aliens. Led by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), eight Senators addressed a letter to the President asking for answers to questions about a plan that would allow DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano to provide an amnesty if they can't secure enough votes for a bill in the Senate.
The letter that was sent to Pres. Obama earlier today asks the President for clarification on the use of deferred action or parole for illegal aliens. The executive actions are typically used in special cases and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, but if 60 votes can't be secured in the Senate to pass a mass Amnesty, the Administration may use the discretionary actions as an alternative.

There’s a catch in this kind of attempted takeover coup by mass amnesty. Mexican immigrants are not that politically motivated and I don’t think more than 20% of them would actually try to register and vote, because of concern that they would identify themselves as illegal immigrants and then they might be deported later if the mass amnesty was overturned (by courts or congress).
So the number of votes lost by the democrats among legal citizens in 2010 would be far more than the votes gained by illegals voting. Therefore a mass amnesty by executive order would very likely backfire disastrously on Obama and lead to a huge number of GOP victories in November. So I think the rumors are probably exaggerated and this kind of stunt isn’t going to happen. Not that this administration wouldn’t want to do this if it would work, but their problem is that it would backfire badly in the first election and lead to GOP control of both the House and the Senate.

True, but I think no more than 20% of Mexican immigrants would even bother to register, because they don’t care that much about who wins elections and they’re worried about being identified as illegal immigrants. If they don’t register, then they can’t vote and nobody else can cast fraudulent votes for them.
Everyday it's something else too. As I've said before this guy is bad news.
I think also there would be a massive wave of litigation by the states and local governments to block a mass amnesty by executive order, which would lead to the courts blocking voter registration by Mexican immigrants in most parts of the country. That would also cause a huge net loss of votes for the democrats in November and lead to GOP control of both the House and the Senate next year. Voter registration is done at the local level and there’s no way this administration can force all the localities to go around the courts, the way Obama’a people repeatedly try to go around the courts and congress.
Worse, it seems not to matter with a large number of Republicans. The illegal actions of this administration have reached the point where the Republicans in the congress should be [literally] shutting down the government to fight it. IOW, bring the Constitutional crisis to a head. Do it now, before an armed insurrection becomes the only resort of patriots to defend the Constitution.
Make no mistake here. When the flash point is reached, it will be the cowardly Republicans to blame. Obama appeases our enemies, Republicans appease the Democrats under the guise of compromise and bipartisanship.
I would be banned from FR if I openly said what I believe should be done with the appeasement oriented members and leaders of the Republican Party.

Agreed, I’d like to see the GOP hitting this administration a little more than they’re doing. The majority are with them at this point. Even Massachusetts sent a Republican to the Senate, what more proof do they need?

That alone should have them stopping this kind of thing because believe me that not needing congress thing already has a lot of traction. They would be even bigger fools than they’ve already shown themselves if they allow more fuel on that fire.
Presidents may only pardon someone for a crime he has already committed, not for future crimes. That means that if Obama pardons all illegal aliens for the crime of having entered the U.S. illegally, they would still be subject to prosecution the next day for the crime of being in the U.S. illegally on such day, since a pardon would not change immigration laws to make it legal for them to live in the U.S.

No one is surprised by this epic betrayal, nor is anyone surprised that D.C. is operating as a dictatorship.
I used to wonder what the alphabet agencies of the Fed Gov would do (Secret Service, FBI, NSA, CIA, etc..); apparently; their down with dictatorship as well.
Funny side note, in watching interviews and documentaries on varying channels about Presedential details, I am hearing a different tune from the Secret Service. They used to be "Rah! rah! Protect the President!!!!"..Now I am hearing "Rah! rah! Protect the OFFICE of the Presidency"..That gave me pause.

You’re 100% right. Nobody’s going to do anything. Nobody on the right’s made the slightest stink really about health care after it’s passed. Whined a lot, but that’s it. Same here. Will be wailing an gnashing, but nothing will happen. Same if cap and tax is passed and energy costs triple. Nobody’s going to do a thing.
