SNIPPET: "Home Depot has a history of supporting homosexual events, the most recent parades in Portland, Maine, and in Boston -- that according to Randy Sharp of the American Family Association.

"The worst offense is that Home Depot has set up kids' workshops at these gay pride festivals," explains AFA's director of special projects."

SNIPPET: "While homosexuals, who make up about two percent of the population, might applaud Home Depot for its actions, AFA contends the corporation is taking the risk of offending and losing business from the other 98 percent of the public."

Good morning Cindy.
Where I live there is a Home Depot and a Lowes across the street from each other.
I pass the Depot and this is a big part of the reason why.

E-mail sent, with the following addendum: Menard’s is just a little bit farther for me. Guess where I’ll be taking my business. Good-by!

Thank you for all that you do on this forum.

I like Lowes, too.

Looks like I will be spending more time at Lowe’s. There’s also a new Stines nearby which is an equally stocked super store.
No more shopping at Homo Depot.

In a word, “Lowes”.

I’ve always preferred Lowes but this gives me another reason not to shop at Home Depot.

I have to pass Lowes to get to Home Depot. This is a great reason to save some fuel and time and just stop at Lowes.

There is a Lowe’s and a Home Depot across the street from each other where I am as well. I nearly always go to Lowe’s (better plants and nicer employees).

The Lowe’s where we are always remembers that they do the military discount all year now...even when we don’t remember. The Home Depot, you have to remind them that they do it, on patriotic holiday weekends, and they look at you like you are from Mars.

Not to mention...teehee...can’t believe I am saying this in public, but I met my husband at Lowe’s. :) I like Lowe’s. :)

So you were trolling for men in the Plumbing Department, eh?

I guess that beats going to bars by a long shot. :-)

I don’t get these companies who become overtly political. But that’s OK. I will exercise my right to choose where I shop and that will not include Home Depot.

Thanks for posting this. I tend to be loyal once I find a store I like, and that USED TO BE Home Depot. I have other choices and will use them. These idiots will NEVER learn.

I travel 25 miles for Menards because our local Depot is poorly stocked. And doesn’t the CEO of Depot make something like 52 million a year? Real smooth move there.

HAHAHAHAHA! I was certainly NOT looking for guys, I was on summer break from college and “forced” by my Mama to help her look for toilet seats...I was not thrilled with my mission, or the location. They were moments from closing, and I ran into the first apron’ed person I saw, who just happened to be a really handsome fella, just about my age...

Long story short, I went back the next evening looking for paint brushes (I can tell you, that was the one and only time I EVER came close to chasing after a boy). He was there, asked if he could call me sometime...blah blah blah...we’ve been married for over 10 years now. :)

LOL there is no way to make the story sound sweet. I met the love of my love over toilet seats at Lowe’s. Some day, I’m going to have some very giggly moments when grandkids ask “Grandma, how did you and Papa meet? Tell us a story!”
