Time author on CNN stated a WH source told him that McChrystal has submitted his resignation, but Obama has not yet accepted it.
If true, good for him.
Did McChrystal plan the whole thing?
I think so.
Can’t wait for his book.
If his “background comments” were what he truly believed, he should have resigned months ago.
Obama may not accept. McChrystal may be free to opine if he is no longer in the chain of command.
Good. After bammy accepts it, McChrystal can speak freely. I am very interested in what he has to say.
My guess too.
He got out in front of being fired.
McCrystal leaves having made his case and one-up over the Won.
CNN, no confirmation yet.
FoxNews, no idea.
Good. Now he can speak out.
OK, but was it HIS idea or His Ineptitude’s?
I think he was hoping things would turn around.
But comments by the administraton over the last week that they were committed to the July withdrawal date were the last straw for McCrystal IMO.
“Kenyan in Thief” wants to get some mileage out of this piece of news. He is one big POS.
I’m not inclined to think so, and I think he’s sorry he said it to a reporter, but I think he’s not going to back down
on why he said what he said, and feels the way he does.
But that’s just me reading tea leaves.
Good for him. That’ll steal some of Zero’s thunder.
McChrystal’s Remarks Signal the Frustrations of A General Who Knows He Cannot Win

Afghanistan has been a major debacle based on an errant strategy since early 2002 when General Tommy Franks and the Bush administration decided to convert the war there from an unconventional to a conventional plan. They fell into a trap and erred with a strategy of counter-insurgency warfare, i.e. nation building, before the enemy is defeated.
Our currently top military leader in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McChrystal and his predecessors fell into the trap as well. And now we are in unwinnable situation.
Gen. McChrystal, as well as the troops, are in a total state of frustration. Rolling Stone magazine is an interesting media venue for McChrystal to vent his frustrations. If I were McChrystal and knew I was going to be fired, I would announce my resignation before being embarrassed by a White House photo-op. And I would state emphatically why I am retiring.
Added to the mess is incompetent political and diplomatic leadership.
Nine years. No victory, no clear winnable strategy.
Maj. Gen. Paul Valley, U.S. Army (ret.) is chairman of Stand Up America.
Good, now he can speak freely on the fraud that is the Obama Administration. I dont know why some got so outraged, what he said was true. Obama is a big fraud and a dumb ass, oh what a shock
