Obama tells Kyl in private Oval Office meeting: I won’t secure border b/c then Republicans will have no reason to support “comprehensive immigration reform.”
On June 18, 2010, Arizona Republican Senator Jon Kyl told the audience at a North Tempe Tea Party town hall meeting that during a private, one-on-one meeting with President Obama in the Oval Office, the President told him, regarding securing the southern border with Mexico, “The problem is, . . . if we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support ‘comprehensive immigration reform.’” [Audible gasps were heard throughout the audience.] Sen. Kyl continued, “In other words, they’re holding it hostage. They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it is combined with ‘comprehensive immigration reform.’”
Sen. Kyl also said he reminded President Obama that the President and the Congress has an obligation, a duty, to secure the border.

But Kyl and McCain are still two faced U.S. Senators.

Did I detect the faintest whiff of sarcasm in your post; if so, why? I read FR as often as possible, but sometimes haven't time to post or someone else has already said it.

Did Kyl get it on tape? Cellphone? Video? Anyone else hear it, too? Sure it stirs up the base to hear about this, but where is the proof? We need verifiable, concrete evidence to nail the guy not one conservative, Republican’s word for it from a “private” meeting.
Jon Kyl is on my dream slate of candidates for 2012 primary (if we have one).
The major question of the moment is if the November elections will be conducted.
I thought the penalty for sedition/treason was a firing squad?

Crowd burns U.S. flags in Ecuador
While U.S. Sec. of State H. Clinton met with Ecuador’s president at that country’s Presidential Palace, a crowd gathered in front, burned two U.S. flags and shouted “Out with the killers of immigrants!,” “Gringos out from Latin America!,” and “Out with the killers of Palestinians!.”

I see McCain and Kyl went to the border this weekend. And that McCain is up to his usual ‘it’s not amnesty’ hedging with we’ll let the border governors say it’s secure before amnesty....Except for Brewer, they’ll all say it’s secure!

I think Kyl (who supports McCain for Re-Election) is just trying to play to emotions in the runup to the August primary election.
Kyl and McCain will support “Comprhensive Immigration Reform”, their codeword for Amnesty, after the dust settles.
Its time to someone who doesn’t support amnesty to be elected like JD Hayworth.
That is absolutely criminal.
This bonehead thinks the law doesn’t apply to him. He can do whatever he wants.
NOW can we impeach this lousy excuse for a president?

It is just disgusting how we hear NOTHING from these Republicans...no press conferences with any frequency, no print ads, no media coverage...NO POUNDING AWAY ON THE REPUBLICAN PLANS FOR ACTION ON POLICIES, NO MENTION OF THE REPUBLICAN WEB SITE SO PEOPLE CAN READ ABOUT THE PROPOSALS OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. NOTHING WITH ANY REGULARITY...NOBODY’S HOME AT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY’S HOUSE FOR THE MOST PART, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SHOWN THAT THEY CAN THINK ON THEIR FEET AND HAVE A PLAN AND HAVE BEEN VOCAL ABOUT THEIR PLANS OF ACTION.

Another very sad part to the story is that most of the folks who voted for Bambam aren't even paying attention. If they watch any news at all, it's the lamestream media and we KNOW they're not going to tell the truth.
Things ANY president does can have long lingering effects on the nation. Sometimes good, and sometimes NOT.
