After Rep. Bob Etheridge (D) was seen in a video confrontation earlier this week, a new Civitas Institute poll shows challenger Renee Ellmers (R) with a slight edge in their race for Congress, 39% to 38%.

All that is needed is commercials all summer drumming that video into the brains of voters in the district.
More good news. It would be sweet for this one to flip, and Renee Ellmers is an RN and a TEA Party activist.
Who is the idiot who thinks this was an “ambush”?
Yeah, it was the video "ambush" not the assault and battery by the congressman that is causing his troubles.
While 1 point might not sound like munch, this is considered a safe democrat distract that went for Obama in 2008. If we keep the heat on, this could be an important pickup.

You’re right about Teagan Goddard’s politics, but his news site sometimes gets good stories.
This is probably an internal GOP poll, and it was taken right after Etheridge assaulted those kids, but the fact that he’s at only 38% is clear evidence that he is very, very vulnerable in 2010. Renée Ellmers is not a first-tier candidate, but she was cleraly the best of the bunch among those running in the NC-02 and I was hopeful since I first read about her a few months ago that she could pull of the upset; she still has a long way to go, but she’s got a real shot now.
I’ve spent the past 8 years or so telling people about how Democrat Representatives in districts like the NC-02 were potentially vulnerable due to the district’s presidential-voting patterns, only to have been proven wrong by a seemingly bipolar electorate that somehow believes that “their Democrat” isn’t at bad as “those national Democrats.” 2010 is looking like my vindication.

No leftist slant in this online story about the poll and the "ambush" on a NC TV website either. Apparently, the poll was taken Wednesday?, and shows Renee Ellmers leads Etheridge 39% to 38% in what was considered a safe democrat seat. The margin of error was plus or minus 5 percent, making it a statistical dead heat according to the article
The Entire Poll covers more issues than just the Ellmers-Etheridge race.

All I can remember is the quote was from a pampered, privileged brutish guy who apparently feels that he's above the law. Typical Democrat hack? or the prime suspect in at least two brutal murders?
Looks like Bozo and the Dems have only the Black vote. When they finally realize liberal policies are keeping them on a farm, they will revolt and become Republican. Unfortunately, this will not happen until Civics and regular subject matter is upgraded for the entire population and more blacks can live the American Dream. Socialism tears us all down as our National IQ dwindles and we are forced to bring in highly educated foreigners to fill the employment gap. This means less upward mobility for the untaught and unmotivated who are brainwashed into thinking they don’t have a chance to prosper and then become a drain on the nation via welfare, criminal activity or incarceration costs. When blacks vote for any candidate at the same percentage as the rest of the population, then equality of outcomes can be within reach. Some people get the fishing pole. Some get a fish. If you keep giving them a fish, they will never be motivated to work for the bread.
