JERUSALEM – An Israeli decision Thursday to ease its blockade of Gaza under intense international pressure could spell the beginning of the end of the chokehold that has hurt ordinary Gazans far more than their militant Hamas rulers.
The order to allow in all foods and some desperately needed construction materials brought calls for Israel to go much further and did little to quell the global outcry over the deadly flotilla raid that tried to bust the embargo.
With a naval blockade in place and Israel giving no indication it will lift a ban on Gaza exports, Palestinians dismissed the move as cosmetic.
Yet the announcement was an unmistakable sign of Israeli leaders' extreme discomfort with the damage the bloody May 31 flotilla raid has done to their country's international standing — and an indication the blockade's days may be numbered.

AP tightens chokehold on Israel.
Well, I guess one answer is to have Israel sink the ships offshore, and let the food and clothes wash ashore. The heavier things (rockets, gernades, bombs, rifles, ect) should sink to the bottom.
But, for some reason the Israeli gov’t didn’t ask me for my opinion.

There are no “ordinary Gazans”. There are only Hamas members.

Sure caught my eye..
Gaza has been getting food and supplies. It hasn’t been getting the weapons it desperately wants, to kill more Jews.
A more accurate title could be, “Gaze Gets Permission to Apply a Tighter Choke Hold on Israel”
I’m thinking Israel has not given up complete control of the ships making port in Gaza, and will continue to inspect and make sure weapons are not on board.
So I give it about 24 hours before the international community trashes Israel for continuing to protect itself in this manner.
A government statement saying Israel "will continue security procedures to prevent the inflow of weapons and war material" meant the naval embargo will remain in place, said an Israeli official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was going beyond a government-approved communique.

Not really... the naval blockade, which brought out all this controversy... remains in place ...

You're right..., they're not changing the naval blockade.
THe journalists never seem to mention that the blockade of Gaza was done by Israel AND EGYPT! Just doesn’t fit the bad-boy stereotype that they want to hang on Israel.
