The Federal Election Commission has dismissed a complaint alleging that J.D. Hayworth improperly used his former Phoenix-area radio show in his bid to unseat Arizona Sen. John McCain.
Former Attorney General Grant Woods, a McCain ally, filed the campaign finance complaint in December.
Woods argued that Hayworth's use of his three-hour radio show on KFYI amounted to an illegal "in-kind" donation from the station.
Hayworth hadn't yet announced that he would challenge McCain in the Aug. 24 Republican primary. His last broadcast was in late January.
Elections authorities dismissed Woods' complaint on June 10. The commission found that Hayworth's radio show fell under a provision of federal law allowing political commentary.
I don't know about the polls, but McCain has ads running on TV every half hour, every day, on every channel he can hire to run 'em.
Nothing on JD.
JD has no money - no (ahem) big money backing.
My prediction - McCain will win again. It sickens me that MONEY can buy the vote in this country.
It is illegal in Europe, (from what I understand) to spend money on advertising for a political office, like McCain is doing.
BTW - I have lived in AZ for almost 20 years - and have NEVER met ONE SINGLE PERSON that ever voted for McCain.
I guess money buys the people who don't bother to check on the backgrounds of anybody running for office......they just vote for the person they see on TV all the time, that says the 'right things', and the background music is soothing and beautiful. (Like McLettuce's campaign ads.)
Same here, yorkie, I've been here year-round since 1991 and have almost never met anyone who voted for him. A few very reluctantly did. It's very strange.
And his staffers are the rudest ever, I'll never forgive their nasty attitude during the last amnesty wars (and yes, I'm polite when I call, always have to give that disclaimer). It's quite clear that we work for them instead of the other way around.
Don’t give up hope. JD may not have the deep pockets that McLame does, but JD may be waiting to use his funds closer to the primary. Personally, I donate what I can, then pray hard the BEST condidate wins. In this instance, that would be JD Hayworth. I won’t give up until the last ballot is counted and neither should any AZ resident.
He's not closed the deal, and all the ads in the world won't work if he can't.
If the dogs won't eat the food, people won't buy it no matter how good the ads are.
” Darn, if we only had that McCain Bill back,I wouldn’t be able to say that,Senator John McCain (R-AZ) will give the keynote address during the National Affiliate Luncheon at the 2004 National Council of La Raza “
LOL!! Great post !!
Ex-Attorney General Grant Woods - another RINO that got Arizona in the fix we are in.”
EXACTLY, Donna!
” BTW - I have lived in AZ for almost 20 years - and have NEVER met ONE SINGLE PERSON that ever voted for McCain. “
I have, but very few, Yorkie. You and I don’t hang with RINOS.
” I guess money buys the people who don’t bother to check on the backgrounds of anybody running for office......they just vote for the person they see on TV all the time, that says the ‘right things’, and the background music is soothing and beautiful. (Like McLettuce’s campaign ads.) “
Have you heard Palin’s ads for McCain? She paints him as a “Godlike” figure.
AM550, Phoenix
AM 790 Tucson.
The ads must have cost millions!
I had to switch my computer listening to KFI,AM 640 Los Angeles to avoid hearing the Palin ads.
when Palin realizesRecall O'Brien the torturer, member of the Inner Party who snares victims by the deception that he is from the resistance.
We discover he created the manual for the rebels The Theory and Practice of Oligarchical Collectivism. The fictional author, Emmanuel Goldstein, is the object of the daily "two minutes hate" brought to us by statist media and participated in by all around (if they wish to remain unmolested by their peers.)
Does that sound too close for comfort?
Statists expend great effort to create their own opposition. It serves as a means to divide its opponents and thwart effective resistance.
When Winston asks O'Brien if the resistance really exists, O'brien tells him that were he to live to 90, he'd never be permitted to know the answer.
For yorkie's phrase "Palin to realize" to have any meaning, one has had to have answered the question "Is Sarah one of us?" as "Yes."
I, myself, hesitate. "Know a man not by his words but by his deeds."
After all, who was it that
” I, myself, hesitate. “Know a man not by his words but by his deeds.”
I had learned that by my early 20’s....albeit the hard way ;-)
It doesn’t really matter what her “intent” was to me either.
Let us assume that Palin is just hopelessly naive, not evil.
1) A home invader, shoots a nice old lady
2) A guy tries to stop a robbery, and accidently kills a nice old lady.
Regardless of INTENT, the old lady is just as dead.
The old lady is, of course, America.
"Regardless of INTENT, the old lady is just as dead.
The old lady is, of course, America."
All we can do is work in our local precincts, and pray MIGHTY hard.
Can’t tell you how much that really pisses me off.
Same here.
Bump!
