Slash is much better than Prince IMHO!

No Mark TremontiI think he is one of the most underrated guitarists out there...I've seen him live a few times and he is just awesome. I think the tanking of Scott Stapp (and therefore Creed) really didn't help his career...

Fairly meaningless ranking. Many, many greats not even there, and it leans, of course to rockers.

Phil Keaggy belongs on that list. From his old days or pure rock to jazz to his current stuff on mostly acoustic. The guy is amazing (look up Salvation Army Band on youtube!)
Yeah, Phil belongs.

Prince is one hell of a guitar player>>>>>>>>
I saw him on TV once ripping through three tunes just by himself. Incredible and I’m not a fan

George Benson would make the top 100.
I think he could easily replace some they have in the top 50.

Hubby sez top 5 will be (in no particular order):
Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Paige, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eddie Van Halen
(LOL, I picked Van Halen)
And he also thinks Zappa deserves an honorable mention and bemoans the likely fact that David Bromberg will not make the list.

Actually Mick Taylor’s stint with the Stones was from Let It Bleed to Its Only Rock n Roll. Arguably their finest period. Six albums including the live Get Yer YaYa’s Out. He also did the guitar on Honkey Tonk Woman. A fine player indeed.

Phil Keaggy hosted a guitar workshop I attended back in the 90’s. When it was over I wanted to quit playing altogether. NO ONE CAN BE THAT GOOD!

“my favorite Gibby box player Webb Wilder”
I saw Webb and the Beatnecks in a small venue a couple of times years ago. Quite a show.

"Andres Segovia 47? Fail." That, along with Gilmour at 41 were enough to prompt me to stop reading.

“Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler.’
I like Pass, Montgomery, and Atkins. Not familiar with Knopler. I’ll have to check him out.
