I'm glad Rory Gallagher was in there. WAAAAAY too low on the list, in my opinion though. Rory was great, and humble too. I heard a story that some reporter asked Jimmie Hendrix how it felt to be the worlds greatest guitarist, and Hendrix replied " I don't know, ask Rory Gallagher."

Ah, it was Roy Clark. Believe it or not; he and Glen Campbell could play just about anything. They just plain gifted.

I listed Leo Kottke in my second post on this thread. He’s still out there playing and has quite a few you tube videos. I’m sure he has inspired a few million guitarists.

Prince is one hell of a guitar player, but these greatest guitar player lists are always trainwrecks because a lot of morons will choose whose hip and current, over actual natural talent and skill.
They are as worthless as MSNBC polls.

I think it was Jay Severin (radio political show) who mentioned Glen Campbell’s skills recently.

That was pretty outrageous. I guess some people believe it takes talent to play that bad.

There is a difference between a guitarist and a guitar player. I admit to ignoring the whole list so I hope it includes Bireli Lagrene.
To: GOPsterinMA
At least Willie has a certain style...doesn’t he?! LOL!

“Actually Glen Campbell and that other country star(I just cant remember his name)are among the best.”
You gotta be talking Roy Clark! That guy can play like 40 different instruments, supposedly.
