SEATTLE -- Seattle police are investigating what they call an assault of an officer in South Seattle. However, a police officer is seen punching a 17-year-old girl in the face during the incident captured by a video camera on Monday.
According to Seattle police, the incident began when an officer spotted a man jaywalking in the 3100 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Way S. at approximately 3:10 p.m. The man was some 15 feet away from a pedestrian overpass, police said.
as a Democrat.
Is that your excuse for why a professional punched a minor/teenager in the face....on duty? =.=
Screaming and swearing at cops? If a child of mine did that the LAST thing they would have to worry about is how the cop felt about it
I feel bad for the cop- he will probably lose his job. But I think screaming and swearing at a cop should get the kid tossed in a cell until mom or dad can come get them AT MINIMUM and a fine of a few hundred dollars
My first thought was what did she do to deserve it.
Seattle cops are not very smart in any situation.
Maybe the officer felt threatened for his life. /sarc
This whole situation smells funny to me. If you watch the video, I can’t see how this officer can explain himself. He was pussyfooting the entire process. Cops here in Florida would’ve tased the perp, tackled them to the ground and cuffed them. This guy just manhandles her around his patrol car while a crowd grows around him. White cop in a black part of town, he’s not called for backup, AND he’s not taking assertive action to put this woman down on the ground to subdue her.
Either they don’t train their cops the same way on the Left coast, or something else was going on here that the video doesn’t explain.
LOL!
See the video.
The woman got in the way of an officer performing LEGITEMATE duties. She laid her hands on him and used violence in an attempt to prevent him from detaining her friend.
Multiply that with a surrounding and encroaching crowd and you’ve got a cop with no time to focus on one beligerent bitch. Notice how may people close in and how many times he has to warn people off.
Good punch.
Straight in, solidly landed.
Well done, Officer.
She’s as big as he is! He’s a brave dude, punching her. If it were me, she’d probably have started to kick my butt and I would have had to taze her, bro.
Another day, another group of Obama voters “acting up”...
Oh... AND he’s focused on the initial woman NOT the one who he punched. What’s wrong with this cop?
Of course he should not have punched her!...Would you scream and swear at a policeman?
Nobody was injured during the incident, police said.
Seattle police have not reviewed the video of the incident. Sgt. Sean Whitcomb said investigators may review the video on Tuesday.
Whitcomb said the officer involved in the incident sent out a call for help, prompting other officers to rush to his aid.
All use of force on the job is reviewed, Whitcomb said, as use of force is under the officer’s discretion. He added that punching is a trained tactic.
“There will be a thorough investigation into this incident,” he said.

Hoo boy.
**Nobody was injured during the incident, police said.**
I’m sure the girl’s lawyer will prove otherwise. Who gets punched in the face and not have some sort of injury?
Clearly these yoots were mouthy and pushy. But for the 17 year old? She won the lottery
Stupid Amish are at it again. Think they rule the world. Our first mistake was not picking our own cotton.
I’m not going to second guess the cop in this situation. On the whole, he did what he needed to do.
On Martin Luther King Blvd? Hmmmmmmmmmm.
Well, the officer is lucky the crowd was more into video tape than jumping him. He should have called for everyone on his radio.
I saw nothing wrong in his smacking the girl. I saw no excessive force on the “Get the ***** off me” girl either. In fact, he seemed to let it go too long for someone resisting arrest.
