SEATTLE -- Seattle police are investigating what they call an assault of an officer in South Seattle. However, a police officer is seen punching a 17-year-old girl in the face during the incident captured by a video camera on Monday.
According to Seattle police, the incident began when an officer spotted a man jaywalking in the 3100 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Way S. at approximately 3:10 p.m. The man was some 15 feet away from a pedestrian overpass, police said.
i remember back in the day if a cop caught ya with some pot he would take it and send you home....lol....now they find a seed and take you to jail...another notch in their belt....we live in a small town over by daytona and the local cops are pretty good...but they will take you to jail if they have too....the sheriffs dept is another story...it is such a transient area that they don’t even ask questions...they just haul you off...
If it’s an unlawful arrest then it’s your duty to resist it. Some states allow for any force up to lethal force to resist an unlawful arrest.
When I first moved to Seattle from New York, I find it odd, even a little scary, that folks didn’t cross the street against the light when no cars were coming, which is SOP in New York. The only folks in Seattle I saw jaywalking were the occassional wino/crackhead, and me, the NY transplant.
Super cops...yeah we had a biker shot in the back not too long ago in ottawa hills...the cop was convicted BTW..
It’s a good thing they don’t arrest or even bother with jaywalkers in Boston because (my guess is) half the city would be fined and/or in jail.

The cops where I live dont give crap about jaywalkers...they are busy looking for CRIMINALS.
When a black pedestrian gets run over while breaking the traffic law...THAT’S whats a jaywalking ticket is for...to protect the driver of the car from a lawsuit.
The cop was completely justified. He wasn’t out of control, the situation could have been, though. I thought he showed great restraint in trying not to hurt either woman too badly. Realistically, he could have taken the little one down really hard, but didn’t, he tried to control her without hurting her. All the idiots around them did nothing to help. They’ll have at least two different videos to support the action of the police officer. None of the women’s idiot friends told them to calm down, but instead seemed to insight further action.
This is the Progressive Paradise of Seattle. The cop will be fired in disgrace prior to indictment and the vic will be working her three brain cells overtime in achieving a decision as how to best blow her multi-million dollar settlement. After six months, once again broke, she will be drafted by the Dem Party to run for Congress. In the neantime, the cop will be grateful for what little air they are able to pump to him in his six-by-six solitary cell.
Well, the fact remains that if you do something illegal, and the cop hassles you, you don’t try to shove the cop around or you’ll get punched in the face. That’s the way it is no matter what color you are.
If a cop hassles me and I’m doing nothing wrong, am I entitled to punch him in the face - or must I bow and scrape?

No, you’re right. Cops should allow themselves to be screamed at and attacked by people in public and not fight back. Because that sets a great example.
