Can Republicans Win the Hispanic Vote?
Townhall.com ^ | June 14, 2010 | Star Parker

Posted on 06/14/2010 7:45:04 AM PDT by Kaslin

New Census data shows the continued trend that the United States is becoming a nation increasingly less white.

According to this latest report, 48.6% of children born in the U.S. between July 2008 and July 2009 were “non-white minorities.” That’s up two percentage points from two years earlier, and soon the figure will cross the 50% mark.

The largest growth demographic is Hispanics, who accounted for almost 55% of our population growth. And, most of this growth – two thirds – came from births, not from immigration.

Aside from the knowledge that the country is becoming more colorful, an obvious thing we’ve got to be thinking about is what this means politically. Given that Democrats have been getting the majority of Hispanic and black votes – the two largest minorities – the straightforward conclusion appears to be that demographic trends favor the Democrat Party.

In the 2008 elections, white voters, for the first time ever, accounted for less than 75% of the total vote. It’s been noted that if each ethnic group voted as it did in 2008, but made of up the same percentage of the electorate as it did 20 years ago, John McCain would be our president today.

Clearly, demographic realities present real challenges to the Republican Party and the values that it is supposed to be championing – limited government and free markets.

Most recent polling from Gallup shows Hispanics generically favoring Democrats over Republicans by 2 to 1.

Republicans have got to make headway with this population.

We need them for building the political consensus to make the critical changes to fix our country - cutting the massive growth in government that Democrats have put in motion, cutting spending to eliminate trillion dollar deficits, reducing our now massive $13 trillion dollar debt, and to come up with creative solutions to the $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities we’re now looking at in our major entitlement programs – Social Security and Medicare. And, of course, holding the line on taxes.

Otherwise stated, if Republicans cannot start pulling in a bigger chunk of this Hispanic vote, it will be tough to be optimistic that we’ll be able to reverse the direction that Democrats have initiated – transformation of our country into a European style social welfare state.

Can Republicans reverse this political trend?

I say yes. The reason is that it is in the interests of our Hispanic citizens to support what Republicans are trying to do.

We’ve got in front of us right now two contrasting snapshots of what America’s future could look like. These two snapshots happen to be our two states with the nation’s largest Hispanic populations. California and Texas.

California today is America’s Greece. Over-governed, over-taxed, over-regulated, over-unionized, with excessive spending and impossible entitlements commitments. If you want to know the path that our federal government is now on, just look at California.

In a recent survey by Chief Executive magazine, CEOs rated California as the worst state in the country for doing business. It is the only state they awarded a grade of “F” in the category of “Taxation and Regulation.”

Over the last year and half, California lost over a million jobs and its overall level of employment is down where it was ten years ago. Its unemployment rate is several points above the national average.

Texas, on the other hand, was rated number one by CEOs. A low tax, low regulation, right-to-work state, unemployment in Texas is several points below the national average. And Texas has had net positive job creation through the recent recession.

Hispanics who think California is model for America’s future can keep voting for Democrats. But my guess is most will prefer the Texas model.

If Republicans make this choice clear to these folks, political change has got to happen.

CHALLENGE THE LEGITIMACY OF THE ILLEGAL VOTE Contact your Republican reps with the referenced info (above)......and demand the Repubs challenge the legitimacy of the latino vote.

ANOTHER GOOD POINT The Obama admin continues to tolerate this national-security nightmare of illegals using multiple identities for fear of offending the Mexican government, the National Council of La Raza, and other immigrant advocates....all of whom are providing Democrat voters to endangered Dems. This outrage is burdening taxpayers and polluting our election system with multiple fraudulent identities.

“what else do the Dems have to keep these coalitions from flying apart?”

Um. I’d say they have the same narrative they’ve been propagandizing for years. “dems are the nice ones with the movies stars with the doe eyes, the republicans are the nasty ones”

A coalition has to have somewhere to fly. You may see an increase in stay-at-home, but not swingworthy.

Exactly. The US has traded aborted citizens for illegal aliens.

THE LATINO VOTE AND THE LOSING NEW JERSEY ELECTION Ohaha's carefully laid plans----for installing a permanent Dem Majority of illegals----might look like this. Ohaha was heavly invested in the NJ gubernatorial race---one of only two statewide 2009 races.

OBAMA WAS DESPERATE FOR NJ's CORZINE TO WIN W/ ILLEGAL VOTES Obama put the power of the WH machine behind NJ incumbent Corzine. Ohaha campaigned in the state three times, Biden was there twice. Ohaha TV ads ran relentlessly. The NY Times reported:
(a) every TV ad Corzine put on the air was being screened by Obama's WH team.
(b) Corzine's aides gave the WH daily briefings.
(c) Obama’s pollsters took over for Corzine’s polling team, and,
(d) White House operatives were on the ground for internal strategy sessions,

DEMS WERE MILKING THE ILLEGAL VOTE AT MACH SPEED
(e) White House operatives were orchestrating obscure pep rallies with Latinos (kept secret from voters),
(f) Corzine had a "Peruvian Pac" endorsing him.
(g) Sucking up to illegals bigtime was Sen Robert Menendez, a latino Corzine campaigner.
(h) Corzine promised to give illegals ‘driving credentials’ & in-state tuition.
(i) Corzine sucked up to illegal immigrants and REFUSED to enforce current immigration laws
(j) Corzine formed a Blue Ribbon committee of hypenates using tax dollars to mine votes for Corzine.

OTHER SALIENT POINTS

>> Incumbent Dem Jon Corzine (the wealthy loser) outspent the Repub winner Chris Chirstie about 4-1.
>> New Jersey has a huge Democratic registration.
>> Corzine bragged he had 20,000 paid union helpers on the ground election day to get out the vote.
>> There was a third party candidate siphoning off Republican votes.
>> Corzine had the power of incumbency.
>> Corzine had the power of a crooked Democrat Machine cooking the vote.
>> Ohaha hid $17.5 BILLION stimlulus in New Jersey.....for Corzine's reelection campaign.

==========================================

AND THIS The winning Republican Lieutenat Governor candidate, former County Sheriff Kim Guadagno, was lacerated by latinos b/c she had applied for the federal 287(g) program, to question every inmate coming to the County jail about their immigration status, regardless of the offense for which they are incarcerated. Sheriff Guadagno had sought to ensure that "criminals" are not unduly released for fear of further harm to the community.

The 287(g) program would provide the sheriff with personnel and tools to punish individuals being held at the County jail, even if they do not meet the criteria set forth by Corzine's sucking up to illegals.

Illegals lacerated Sheriff Guadagno for political pandering and for scouting incidents of indictable offenses such as driving under the influence by undocumented immigrants.

Hispanic voters care about the same things you and I do Liz.

They want jobs to improve their lives, a roof over their head, their children to be safe and get a good education.

Now some of them will be fooled by the illegal immigrant question, but many of them see their family members gain traction here only to be replaced by illegal immigrants, or their pay impacted negatively due to the illegal immigrant standing right next to them.

Many of them will live in areas where crime is prevalent, gangs making it unsafe for their children. Gang members are in many instances, what? Illegal immigrants.

Where our politicians are blowing it, is by sounding just like the Democrats when they address the issue of illegal immigration.

Talk about the impacts of illegal immigration. Talk about the impact on family life, child safety, job status, neighborhoods, mortgages that require steady employment and sufficient U. S. wages.

Talk up religion. Be respectful of the church.

Hispanic families have the same concerns other families do. I think our leaders have holes in their heads, when it comes to how to win the Hispanic vote. They don’t want to be catered to. They want to be treated with respect.

I think the same message you’d give to a group of middle-class people should appeal to Hispanics of all income levels.

Why can’t our leaders get this?

If the “Hispanic” vote wants amnesty (and continued easy entry) for illegal aliens and racial spoils, then is it important to win the Hispanic vote? why on Gods earth would it matter, we will have lost anyway.

In Colorado Springs, there is a center-right Republican mayor named Rivera and a GOP county charman,” by just being ourselves, we will get much of the Hispanic vot.

Look for Pubbie Martinez to win the New Mexico governorship in November.

Just because the Democrats want to divide people by skin color or ethnic background, the Republicans should do just the opposite and speak out continuously that there are NO MINORITIES in the United States of America. We all have the same rights as another other citizen because we are Americans.

If the Republicans want to win this particular voting block all they have to do is to speak out for the common good of families, defend Life and defund Planned Parenthood et al and let parents choose their children’s schools— be they public or private.

You are talking about a very small percentage----we already know who they are---they have been in the Republican party for ages and are very loyal Americans.

I'm talking about the vast numbers of lawbreakers, invaders, Reconquistadores, agitators, drug cartels, Mexican loyalists, who are planning to bring the US govt down.

=============================================

PRES TEDDY ROOSEVELT: "There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag....... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language ... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”

========================================

2008 McCains' Hispanic Outreach Coordinator, Juan Hernandez, Fort Worth, a dual citizen of the US and Mexico, and past member of Vicente Fox’s Mexican government, is as open borders as you can get.

Hernandez, Fort Worth, once served as a cabinet member in the Mexican Government. Hernandez believes all illegal Mexicans and Mexican-Americans in the USA should become dual citizens and consider themselves Mexicans first, "to the 8th generation." Hernandez' book urges illegal alien invaders to become settlers in the USA for Reconquista---the Mexican plan to take back the SW.

McCain said he chose Hernandez because he agrees with his positions. McC sucked up to amnesty-pusher Hernandez (as Americans woke up to 5 million toxic mortgages fraudulently doled out to illegals that poisoned our economy forever). Hernandez, McCain's Hispanic outreach director, stated on national television that he is for the North American Union, and the “Amero” to replace the dollar within 10 years or so.

========================================

Juan Hernandez was born in Dallas and decided as an adult to become a dual-national Mexican citizen. His last verifiable job was serving in Mexican President Vicente Fox's cabinet as Vicente Fox's "American Reconquista Director." Hernandez then worked for Bush hater George Soros' international foundations---(one such foundation published Hernendez's book that taunts Americans).

===================================================

QUOTING FORMER CONG TOM TANCREDO (R-Colo) Juan Hernandez headed up the Mexican govt agency, "Ministry of Mexicans Living in the United States. Hernandez is a dual citizen of the United States and Mexico, and a good friend of then-presidents Bush and Mexico's Vicente Fox." Hernandez was presidential candidate John McCain's Hispanic outreach man.

Hernandez explained to Cong Tancredo the purpose of the Mexican government agency: Ministry of Mexicans Living in the United States:

(1) to increase the flow of Mexican nationals to the United States.....

(2) to direct Mexican nationals in the US to serve Mexico’s needs (like reconquista);

(3) to increase US remittances to Mexico of $50 billion a year (30% of the Mexican GDP);

(4) to get US jobs for an exploding Mexican population, alleviating Mexico's social instability due to rising unemployment;

(5) to get free US training for Mexicans, who are expected to return and repatriate those skills back to Mexico.

Hernandez, a dual citizen who resides in Fort Worth, supports amnesty: "By populating the United States with millions of Hispanics tied economically, politically and linguistically to Mexico, we are able to exert enormous influence and pressure on US policy and its dealings with Mexico."

SOURCE http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=33894

NOTE: " Exerting enormous influence and pressure on US policy and its dealings with Mexico" means extorting billions of US tax dollars to subsidize corrupt Third World federales.

===========================================

THIS IS SCARY: There are currently 230+ US cities with active murderous Mexican Cartels.....violent murders who are organized, w/ unlimited access to wealth and arms.....who suck up US govt freebies. Our Government KNOWS this. Napolitano testified in 2008 that they are here. Congress knows, yet NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE.

THE FACTS ARE THESE US intelligence agencies are aware of, and have briefed the US govt, on this threat. But Americans are being betrayed by their own government. The US govt will do nothing to protect American citizens from these illegal Third World savages pouring over our borders, committing crimes, then are freed to roam our streets.

==========================================

Just here for a "better life"-----amnesty whores itemize why
they oppose Arizona's law at Phoenix protest, May 29, 2010.

Odd that Mehican prez Calderon did not tell the Congress all of that.
Guess he knew he wouldn't get a standing ovation (/snix).

If Hispanice want hight taxes and welfare then no, we cannot win their vote. This country will go down in flames.

Sorry, that is a flip and stupid comment based on nothing but stereotypes. Hispanics work very hard usually. Sure there’s welfare. The right spokesman/woman needs to be found. Ans, it can’t be a rino like some of Bush’s cabinet (Martinez for example)...we can wind this with a simple message, explanation, radio ads, TV ads.

Liz, my extended family (all hispanic) are angry about illegal immigration. These people have a strong work ethic, have made something of themselves, and are not illegals. They do not tap government services to get by. They operate just like you and I do. And guess what, their tax dollars are going to support illegal immigrants. Do you think they don’t know it, and aren’t angry about it?

My comments were based on my conversations with them.

They are Christians, know right from wrong, and respect the United States.

You are seeing the angry exploited idiots on the streets. When you see 50,000 of them out there, just remember they are being funded by anti-American advocacy groups.

Twenty times their numbers are at home embarrassed that they may be seen as having approved of this nonsense.

That sign held by a Spanish descendant, displays a mountain of ignorance about history, U. S., and international law.

Can Republicans Win the Hispanic Vote?

It's impossible to out pander the Democrats spending other people's money. If Republicans speak out and educate the people on why Republican and Conservative ideals are superior, yes they can win over any voter.

Yes, we can win over any Hispanic voter.

Not every Hispanic in the United States is an illegal alien.

Not every Hispanic in the United States is homeless, poor, and living on the government dole.

If we sound just like the Democrats on the subject of illegal immigration and the rule of law, they won’t see any reason to vote for us.

If we advocate strong families, safe neighborhoods, the rule of law, and protecting their ability to earn a living, they will vote for us.

Sadly, Republicans haven’t got clue one when it comes to what the average Hispanic actually thinks.

“Ah Hispanic, well then we can’t address illegal immigration then.” Yep, while the Hispanic’s job was just lost because an illegal came along who would do it for half the pay, we act as if all Hispanics have a vested interest in destroying the labor base in the U. S. WRONG!

When a Hispanic buys a home, don’t they want property values to rise and their kids to be safe? Don’t they want their jobs to continue to exist?

Do they want four families buying the home next door, living there, parking cars in the yard, their kids joining gangs and causing problems for everyone? No!

The Republican party needs to buy a clue.

.......the 50,000-100,000 angry idiots on the streets, marching in US cities are funded by anti-American advocacy groups......

I know.

These lawbreakers far outnumber the law-abiding hispanics who came here, obtained citizenship, and are Americans in every way. We know who they are.

===========================================

The lawbreakers, Reconquistadores and drug cartels are backed by anti-American advocacy groups......AND the Mexican govt.

REFERENCE Cries of "Kill the gringo! Stampede over him! Rise up and overthrow the White oppressor in a bloody Communist insurrection" comes straight out of the Mexican government's handbook.

Now it is being taught in US schools.

Accuracy in Academia investigated "ethnic studies" and uncovered damaging material in the high schools of Tuscon, Arizona. Paulo Freire (a Brazilian Marxist)'s book called Pedagogy of the Oppressed is required reading in Arizona's "Raza Studies" (ie, Race Studies), otherwise known as "Mexican-American courses."

Another favorite is "Occupied America" by Rodolfo Acuna, professor of Chicano Studies at California State University in Northridge. "Occupied America," according to the invaders, includes a map of Mexico in 1821 which includes the American Southwest. A choice quote from "Occupied America." It gives us an idea of material Hispanic students are being exposed to in Arizona public schools: "We are fed up. We are going to do away with the injustice to the Chicano and if the 'gringo' doesn't get out of our way, we will stampede over him."

Another priceless gem: "(The Mexican speaker) attacked the gringo establishment angrily at a press conference and called upon Chicanos to "Kill the gringo,' which meant to end white control over Mexicans."

No they can’t. And they shouldn’t worry about it, or try to reach out. If they can just bring themselves to be actual conservatives, loud and clear, and highlight the differences between the current White House clown’s policies and theirs, the rest will take care of itself.

It’s when they “reach out” that republicans lose their way. Let the voters reach out; that’s their damn job.

Agreed. Particularly the 1st 3 words.

And they should make it clear how the democrats try to divide & conquer by race.

But WITHOUT giving any principles.
