But when there's a party establishment candidate in the running, or one who had some ties with the McCain-Palin 2008 ticket, "she'll go with that," Blakely said.

I think she know how to win.

Is it better for a political party to be pragmatic & achieve power — or to remain an ideologically pure movement & criticize from the sidelines?
To: rabscuttle385
Political expediency...
Any way you spell it, it still comes out RINO.
So California and Arizona weren’t the only two states after all. Who could have guessed that after McCain and this.

When she reaches across the aisle with McPOS, it’s a disaster. Conservatives never win with RINOs. It’s loser-ville.

Leave it to you to carry the liberal media's water.
You think the AP cares about the Tea Party? They are trying to split the conservatives from Palin.
Branstad is not a RINO. He served 16 years before as Iowa's Governor and did a great job. The Tea Party candidate who was endorsed by Huckabee lost the race twice before.
She just endorsed Korster & Didier in WA state who are solid conservatives.
But if you feel that her endorsement of McCain (nevermind that many of Palin supporters understand the endorsement and will still support JD) makes her a RINO then I can't change your mind.

So, an AP piece claims that somme conservatives are not happy with Sarah Palin. Does the AP ever report anything flattering to any conservative? No.
There is not a single conservative politician or figure able to satisfy all of the conservatives. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems totally counter productive to be constantly bashing Sarah Palin when this administration is a total disaster. Waste of energy.

Unless and until Sarah can be cloned - there will never be other candidates who are in lock step with all of her positions.
Being a pragmatist shows humility and grace; essential qualities in leadership. Idealogue is just another word for tyrant!

Yea, that's why the following occured:
1. McCain endorsed Crist, Sarah endorsed Rubio
2. McCain endorsed
McMaster, Sarah endorsed Niki Haley
3. Sarah endorsed Clint Didlier who has Tea Party support, Rossi is the establishment candidate.

There is one thing about Free Republic...there has never to my knowledge been a consensus on any Conservative candidate.
From watching over the clinton years, the voting public is fraught with "one-issue", or "pet-issue" voters...if the candidate doesn't 100% support their project, they throw them under the bus and keep looking.
If some were all for, say, larger mudflaps on semi's, and only one candidate supported that - even if he was a member in good standing with the communist party - they would vote for him/her.
This is why we have a hard time winning, because the democrats have much more solidarity than we do. There is a lesson there to learn.
Sarah Palin is a polarizing figure, you either like her, or you don't. For someone like me who thinks she would make a great President and have the dems talking to themselves, you won't convince me to change by carrying the "she endorsed mccain" flag...I don't care.
Rest assured, the overwhelming majority of the free world KNOWS she endorsed McCain, but that was weeks ago, and her popularity is still increasing daily. But, there are those who have to mention it anytime they see Palin's name anywhere...like the rest of us somehow magically forgot about it.
They've thrown everything they have at the woman, and she's still roaring. So give it a rest, it ain't working.

She’ll have to tow the same old OP(formerly the GOP) party line if she has aspirations of becoming President in 2012. That doesn’t bode well for Conservatives.

Winning is what counts. If you can’t win because you don’t have a viable candidate you have to go with the best you have.
But way to keep attacking Palin. We wouldn’t want to spend time attacking the leftists.

Unfortunately, there are those at FR who hate Sarah Palin - with whom they disagree on two or three endorsements - more than they hate Barack Obama.
