Peter Singer: ‘Why Not Sterilize the Human Race into Extinction?’

Singer explains Benatars antinatalist philosophy, which bases its moral framework by weighing the consequences of existence, in this way: everyone will suffer to some extent, and if our species continues to reproduce, we can be sure that some future children will suffer severely. Hence continued reproduction will harm some children severely, and benefit none.
Singer then invites readers to engage in a thought experiment: "So why dont we make ourselves the last generation on earth? If we would all agree to have ourselves sterilized then no sacrifices would be required we could party our way into extinction!"

We should let him experience the joy of feeling like the last human being on earth. Leave him on a pristine and uninhabited island with no way of communicating with the outside world. Sheer bliss for him.

I think they put a picture of his spouse below the words “Animal Liberation”.

A “thought experiment” isn’t a proposal for action.
To: ezfindit
Why doesn’t Peter Singer just ESAD? That would be so much more preferable.

Does anyone have that “attention whore” photo? Because that’s all Singer is with his stupidly outrageous comments.

He can just ESAD or FOAD, I don’t care which. But he won’t. When you strip everything else away, leftist are nothing but miserable cowards. They say they want everyone to die, but they won’t when it comes to their leading the way.

Of course, he won’t self-abort.
To: ezfindit
Absolute genocide. That’s what he’s calling for. Atheist fundamentalism kills.

So this is what our institutions of higher learning refer to as a philosopher these days?

A thought experiment isnt a proposal for action.
Except, you know, when it's an exalted, esteemed, credentialed expert in bio-ethics spewing stupid, hypocritical nonsense in a public medium.
Then it's a "thought experiment" in the sense that certain collections of prison wrtings were.
"Oh here's a little thought experiment everyone: how much better off would the world be if we got rid of the Jews and other subhumans taking up all of our precious resources?"
"I was just engaging in a little thought experiment: what if we slowly destroyed the pillars of Western Civilization instead of trying that war and revolution nonsense again? Wouldn't that make the world so much better?"
To: ezfindit
Nothing stopping folks who believe crap like this from doing it! The rest of us won’t miss them much, I don’t reckon.

Let’s start with people who voted for Obama and think like Peter Singer, see how that goes for a generation or two, and go from there. :|

Interesting. The rise of the death lovers since about 1960 has been remarkable. They are like vermin, everywhere! I think it is deeper than the rejection of the Lord. The rejection of the Lord God is merely a symptom of a deeper malaise that is permeating our entire Western Civilization.
