Singer then invites readers to engage in a thought experiment: "So why don’t we make ourselves the last generation on earth? If we would all agree to have ourselves sterilized then no sacrifices would be required — we could party our way into extinction!"

Holy crap. Is this guy serious? How could you want... I don’t understand... you want to eradicate the... I don’t get it. I really don’t get it. This has GOT to be a really bad acid trip or a Twilight Zone episode being perpetrated on the world by one severely clever Orson Welles.

Why don’t you provide us, less sophisticated and progressive minds with a palpable illustration: Go HANG around your house somewhere.
We should let him experience the joy of feeling like the last human being on earth. Leave him on a pristine and uninhabited island with no way of communicating with the outside world. Sheer bliss for him.

We should be encouraging all the misanthropic leftists we know to go there are become a part of the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement. I think he’s on to something. Now if only he can get every liberal in the world to volunteer for this that would be great.
When my daughter was in college, one of the required courses featured Singer. When he came to speak in person, a number of students got up and walked out. Not all of them were conservatives, either. Then they showed tapes of his speeches and lectures in subsequent classes. My daughter was very agitated by the tape of his talk. Forcing student exposure to this man lowered this college greatly in my opinion. I shouldn’t be surprised that Obama chose it as one of the first schools he visited.

I guess in this country one is free to spew whatever verbal raw sewage one wants, but the fact that he STILL holds positions of authority makes me tremble for the state of education at our “fine” universities.
The problem is that they keep recruiting the children of conservatives to their cause via the “public schools” and “institutions of higher learning”.
If nihilists were true believers, there wouldn’t be any.
