Thought experiments are for useless, perenially non-productive academics like yourself, Singer.

Why don’t you provide us, less sophisticated and progressive minds with a palpable illustration: Go HANG around your house somewhere.

Not entirely true, Albert Einstein made good use of thought experiments to formulate and later explain his theories. I believe the "quantum age" of physics relies as much on thought experiments as it does on supercolliders.

Why don’t the left just turn themselves into Soylent Green and help feed the hungered masses in third world countries. It would be win-win-win.
