Don't call it Chevy.
General Motors leaders are asking Chevrolet employees to refrain from the shorthand etched in America's consciousness for decades. Or, as the New York Times put it, "If General Motors has its way, you won't be driving your Chevy to the levee ever again."
The Times quoted this company memo sent Tuesday: "We'd ask that whether you're talking to a dealer, reviewing dealer advertising, or speaking with friends and family, that you communicate our brand as Chevrolet moving forward.
"When you look at the most recognized brands throughout the world, such as Coke or Apple, for instance, one of the things they all focus on is the consistency of their branding," the memo continued. "Why is this consistency so important? The more consistent a brand becomes, the more prominent and recognizable it is with the consumer."

There is a doofus in eastern Idaho that does
commercials for a Chevy dealer. He pronounces
the name as “shivvy”.
How do you say Chevy in Arabic?

COMPLETE UTTER MORONS at work.
Well, what can we expect from Government Motors.
(and apologies to those with cognitive challenges)
No more “Chevy”...just another reason I’ll never buy a product from
Government Motors.
Man, I'm old...
You're old? I can recall my boyhood disappointment when I found out that the The Dinosaur Show wasn't about dinosaurs at all. It was just some blonde lady named Dinah Shore singing. :=)
Idiocy
I have a CHEVY Dually 1 ton-1976 with over 345,000 miles on it.
I will drive it until I die.
I will call MY TRUCK whatever the hell I want to.
NObama & his minions can try to stop me.
I drove a ‘63 Rowbinder (International pickup) with tree shift all the way through law school. Bought it for $500, sold it for $650. Of course, Mrs. Colonel keeps reminding me that I put $2000 into it for multiple radiators and a tranny, but I ignore her. The truck was older than she was.

The Chinese Chery QQ6
Someone knows what's coming and is afraid to fight the Chinese over possible trademark infringement?
No va means no go.
LOL!
This will carry over into all references to obummer being in his full name “Barack Hussein Obama” or whatever the heck it really is.
I am looking for all textbook and news references to begin this now.

When you produce a consistently CRAPPY product for DECADES...
you probably do need to change the brand name.
However, it probably won’t help much for about another decade or so
if you happen to start making a decent product.
As for GM, I already deserted to Toyota after 2000.
If I desert Toyota...it will probably be for Hyundai/KIA.
I’d rather buy a product from an ally of America (South Korea) than
from an “enemy domestic” (GM, aka “Government Motors”).
H-LL, I’ve already helped bankroll GM without my permission.
So I feel ZERO-BAMA guilt about not buying their work-product.

You (all of us) paid for this.
And GM’s switch to a foreign advertizement agency.
So much for that hope-y change-y thang that was going to create so
many new jobs.
Thanks, Obama.
I like to think of Dear Reader as some guy with a defective palantir (we'd be in real trouble if he had one made by a real mason).
This is what he actually uses...........
LOL! I see he’s been getting ‘Try again later’ a lot lately. lol
Drat! I’m at a work computer with no audio. I’ll be sure to check it out after hours. Thx!
Kind of easy to spot us oldtimers isn’t it?
Kinda sorta! lol
