For a coup to be successful you usually need the military behind it.
I just cannot imagine the guys I know in the senior ranks of the military ordering tanks onto the streets of the US.
Yes, things are bad. Yes, Obama is an idiot. But I dont take talk of a coup very seriously.
(I still buy an extra box of ammo every week for insurance...)
“I still buy an extra box of ammo every week for insurance...”
I never pass up Academy either.

Same here.
I can imagine SIEU/Black Panthers/Acorn taking up arms. O could send the troops all over the globe so they are not here. I wouldnt be surprised at all.
So, you do think U.S. military officers will be fine with ordering guns to be trained on citizens?
Remember when O said that he wanted a force in America (brown shirts) that was better trained than the military?
I can imagine it. These guys have more allegiance to their pensions and perks than they do the Constitution.
Unless you are Rambo or some other fictional character, the ammo you squirrel away may supply our enemies and be used to kill people on our side if you are eliminated. Maybe you and your friends could maintain a separate and shared arsenal.
These are the guys, with their militarized SWAT teams and very casual attitudes about this Constitution thing, civilian control of the police, and the fact that you have them giving loyalty to political organizations, (Weis in Chicago as an example) that are going to control "civil crisis."
The LEOs are the sharp end of the spear. They are the ones who enforce the "law," regardless of how silly, stupid, greedy or deadly the "law" is. They obey. They don't think, or refuse an order. They justify anything, because it's "us" against Civilians. Recall that the Einsatzgruppen were drawn from German Police Departments, not the military. LEOs are the ones who will dig the ditches...

I can, not because there is inherently something wrong with the troops but because in these situaitons everyone does what it takes to save themselves...following orders.
