Isn't it frightening that we have got to this point. i.e. - the leaders we place in power trying to undercut the Constitition that placed them there?
Where are the patriots in this country?

This martial law Underdog vs. Ultimate Tyrant notion is a fantasy which has continued unabated for the last quarter-century I have been following it. Nothing about it has changed except the President accused of plotting the coup.
Yah, this time its different. Just as it has been for 25 years.

For a coup to be successful you usually need the military behind it.
I just cannot imagine the guys I know in the senior ranks of the military ordering tanks onto the streets of the US.
Yes, things are bad. Yes, Obama is an idiot. But I dont take talk of a coup very seriously.

The patriots are busy calling, faxing, e-mailing their brain-dead elected officials, and oh yes - attending Glenn Beck events.

Hey, if Obama just says “we’re at war” and invades Pakistan or Iran, FReeRepublic will fall in line and if anyone questions the forgotten elections, FReepers will call them unpatriotic and “hate America firsters” and head back to their martial autoeroticism.

Now we have to wonder about Zer0 doing away with elections as "emergency" I remember people around here speculating on that at the end of the Clinton administration. And no doubt many liberals were conviced that would happen at the end of the Bush administration. Now it's back to speculating about it during an Obama administration, and no doubt it will occur again at the end of the next Republican one. Some things never change.

We hear this crap every election cycle.

I seem to recall the left making similar claims about Bush a couple of years back. For that matter, I seem to recall the right making similar claims about Clinton some ten years back. . .

A well-considered article from The American Thinker, as always. The more realistic threat, I believe, is that of an economic meltdown, leading not to "martial law" but to the assumption of ever-greater powers by the Federal government, whose actions will have largely caused the crisis in the first place.

In our system, you can't do it unless the Constitution sez so.
Yeah, but since when did Obama ever heed the Constitution unless it suited him?

This time last year I would have said this all rumors and innuendos not to be given much credit. However, the way the Rats used Reconciliation to ram through the Health Care bill, I wouldn't doubt for one second they aren't planning more assaults on our Constitution.

The line of the day:
Commandant Zero is being revealed as the most inept president on record. This is in no way hyperbole; it is a sober evaluation of the record as it exists.
Look for a "failure" in the communication (phone, internet, TV...) sector if/when this happens!
GOD SAVE THE REPUBLIC!

BTW, the number of folks here on FR who still think we’re “just in a cycle” makes life much easier for the radicals in the WH.

We are keeping an eye on the storm. My granddaughter turns seven today. As a vet, we will pounce when the time is right. This $400 million he is giving to the terrorist is just another reason to be ready to fight. We are ONE and we are STRONG. Sempre Fi.
