Rumors of a Coup
american thinker ^ | jr dunn

We've been hearing a lot of comments recently about a national coup d'etat scheduled for sometime in late summer or early fall and designed to circumvent the coming Democrat debacle in the 2010 elections.

This is an example of political gothic of a type that I tend to overlook. But my interest was piqued by the fact that it has been mentioned several dozen times in the comment threads of essays of mine in recent weeks. I've had a little difficulty grasping exactly how such a thing would work, so I've spent the last few days puzzling it out.

The contention is that at some point before the upcoming November elections, an "incident" of some violent but unknown nature will occur that will provide Obama with the opportunity to declare "martial law" across the country, which will involve the "cancellation" or "postponement" of the elections. This will enable the Obama dictatorship to take off its humanist mask and put its true agenda into play, part of which involves sending JRD up to Prudhoe Bay to feed moss to the caribou for the next ten years.

Breaking this thesis into its component parts, we find

I’m not say it can or can’t happen. I’m pointing out the posters who jump on the author of the piece without reading more than the title.

“( Van Jones types) are getting impatient with obama.”

AND, remember the clip in which VanJones said, “we will look back on THIS week as a turning point”, or similar.

I keep looking for an event, but maybe it is a compilation of things, seen and unseen. I prepare for hurricane sesaon, why not for civil unrest?

We hear this crap every election cycle.

Yeah, and were going to continue to pretend our economy is not tumbling down range out of control, pretend our government has not become extremely corrupt, and pretend our borders resemble a lawless chaotic Boston Marathon of millions.

This is all tin foil crap....Now, let pretend to get back to business as usual...

Given who obama’s friends are, it is a good thing to be prepared for a major disruption in daily life. There is a good possibility that he will lose control of his supporters. The monster that the left created and allowed to take over their party is trying to break out.

Yes, I know you were. But the book I was showing, written in the 1930’s, shows exactly how it CAN happen here. The parallels of that story with Obama is uncanny. ........

I’ve been hearing those exact words for decades now.

Yes, but to a certain extent, they are true. There is significant corruption in the voting process. Many illegals vote. Voter rolls are a disaster in many areas. Comatose people in nursing homes vote, etc.

Is it worse now than when Kennedy stole the 1960 election? I don't know, but I know that information technology makes it VERY possible to greatly reduce the problem....if anyone wanted it to be reduced.

Damn, when Bush was in office, the men and women of the military were brave patriots willing to die defending Freedom and the Constitution....am I supposed to believe that has somehow changed?
There are lots of higherups who DESPISE the muslim and wouldn’t let it happen...
If you suspend the Constitution, you have suspended the citizens duty to act in a peaceful and civilized manner...

Yes, prepare for this now in a sane and logical way. If it doesn’t happen? Then you are prepped for a hurricane, tornado, flood, major solar blast, mass coronal ejecta (MCE), or others.

At some point in the future, this WILL happen. We just don’t know if we will be around when it does.

I understand what you are writing, and I pray to God that some of these men continue to operate as honorably tomorrow, as they have their whole lives.

I trust them with my life.

Well....I saw what the military allowed at Waco. None raised any questions about Obama’s eligibility. I am a witness to how they are letting LTC Lakin twist in the wind.

So?...Given this history, why should I expect that they would defend the Constitution?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Those at Waco didn't take their oath seriously. Those who have remained silent about Obama’s natural born status are not taking their oath seriously. Those who are not stepping forward to defend LTC Lakin are not taking their oath seriously. Those higher level generals who are letting Lakin twist in the wind are not taking their oaths seriously.

Sorry...If and when tyranny comes some of the military will march to the tyrant's drum. Others will join the cause for freedom. How things would shake out?...Well?...Who knows?

Yes, it’s true that every president for the last two decades, Clinton, Bush and now Obama, has been suspected of planning to declare martial law and do away with elections by their opponents, rather than give up any power. But.... it’s also a saying...

the third time’s the charm.

Imagine our surprise if this time it actually did happen. And I can’t think of a more likely suspect than Barry Hussein Obama...who surrounds himself with radicals, commies and terrorists.

Btw, how bored have you been with little or no ‘birther’ threads to attend to lately? One conspiracy thread is as good as another, eh?

It's also a saying that even paranoids can have real enemines. But I don't think that's going to come true in this case either.

Birthers are still active, in fact one of them is facing court martial this fall, so there's still plenty to post on and no reason to be bored.

Your comments give me hope. I’m so tired of hearing the military people saying there is no way to defend the Constitution from domestic enemies (enemies of the Constitution like Nancy Pelosi, who swore to uphold the Constitution but perjured herself to even get Obama on the ballot in violation of the Constitution).

The infiltration of political hacks in our law enforcement system is a big, big deal. I think you’re right on the money with this comment.

When law enforcement down in Missouri took it upon themselves before the election to patrol whether there was political speech about Obama raising taxes or being a closet Muslim, it should have sent a loud, clear call to everybody who understands the importance of the rule of law.

Law enforcement at every level refuses to enforce the laws - unless there’s a political advantage to doing so.

The active military will never say officially what they feel. Retired generals and officers stay active with their contemporaries. Hint: Statements like that of the General often reflect the attitude of the military rank and file.
