Rome - Italian singer Andrea Bocelli has told the story of his mothers pregnancy, during which doctors suggested that she abort him because he would be born with a disability.
In a new video he praises his mother for making the right choice, saying other mothers should take encouragement from the story.
In a YouTube video titled Andrea Bocelli tells a little story about abortion, the singer sits at a piano and tells his audience a story about a young pregnant wife hospitalized for a simple attack of appendicitis.
The doctors had to apply some ice on her stomach and when the treatments ended the doctors suggested that she abort the child. They told her it was the best solution because the baby would be born with some disability.
But the young brave wife decided not to abort, and the child was born, he continued.
That woman was my mother, and I was the child. Maybe I'm partisan, but I can say that it was the right choice.
He said he hoped the story could encourage many mothers in difficult situations but who want to save the life of their baby.
Bocelli has congenital glaucoma and lost his vision completely at age 12 after getting hit in the head during a soccer game.
The video itself is produced by www.IamWholeLife.com, an initiative of the Human Rights, Education and Relief Organization (HERO). HERO is a partner of the pro-life movie star Eduardo Verastegui.
What a horrendous loss, if the world was deprived of such a dear man and gloriously gifted singer. God bless you dearly, Mrs. Bocelli!
~~Ping!
One of my favourites—have him on my FR page. Thanks for posting. Sharing on Facebook.
How soon until the “pro-choice” hags get on his case like they did Tim Tebow?
Bump for later.
“Con te Partiro” is absolutely one of the most powerful songs I have ever listened to. It brought me to tears the first time I heard him sing it.
What a wonderful story. God bless him!
Wow! What a story! I didn’t know that about Bocelli.
I thank my mom for not aborting me either. I was born prematurely and with very little chance of surviving, my mom still kept me.
I betcha I won’t get any responses on my FB page—not even from the liberal, pro-aborts. I mean, what are they going to say for all the world to see—”his mom should have killed him”. But yes, the more militant pro-aborts who make it their mission in life will be out for his blood.
Imagine those 40 million+ aborted babies to date. How many scientists, teachers, artists, Men of God were denied entrance into this world?
God Bless you, Andrea, you have blessed all of us.
Love Bocelli...!!
Next time you are in Vegas stand in front of the Bellagio fountain show at night and wait for this song to come on...or try to find it on youtube.
One can also imagine all the just average/mediocre people that were aborted that may have just produced average/mediocre people or those same average people could have produced someone extremely talented. Reminds me of "It's a Wonderful Life" in how the world was so changed by George Bailey's absence. I'm not talented, beautiful, incredibly smart, or charming, but I've still come to believe that my life is important.
he and Tim Tebow....
Our favorite.
