Click video to view. All you’ve heard in the progressive Democrat dominate lame stream media is about the pro-terrorist flotilla supporters. Someone may want to whisper in their ear about this pro-Israel rally that attracted over 5,000 people in of all places, Los Angeles this past weekend. It was briefly mentioned on Fox News over the weekend, and posted at YNet, but you would be hard pressed to find any mention of this rally on any other network’s TV station or website.

Supporters of Israel marched along Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills carrying Israeli flags in the largest pro-Israel rally in the US since last week’s flotilla raid. In addition to Israelis and Jews, the rally was also attended by leaders from the Iranian, Armenian, and Mexican communities, as well as Catholic clergymen.

In the background, the songs Am Yisrael Chai, David Melech Yisrael, and Hatikva were played over a loudspeaker system. One of the participants blew the shofar. Thousands shouted: “Turkey is a friend of Hamas.” --Link.

I’m going to have to admit, that some of the leaders supposedly backing this have me scratching my head.

I support it, but I’m not exactly sure why they are.

of all places, Los Angeles

A couple of years ago I attended the "Library Minyan" just across the line from Beverly Hills in West LA maybe. (I hardly ever really know where I am out there.) Walking around that Shabbat, reminded me of Jerusalem: lots of kippas and mothers in long skirts wheeling baby carriages.

Ever since there arose in Egypt a pharaoh who knew not Joseph, these people have found few allies. Even three generations after WW II there is still an important Israeli faction that understands how to realistically place their current politics in a millennial context.

We consider the Holocaust as 6 million dead Jews compared to our population, but they remember just over 9 million resided in all Europe. For a proper comparison in this country, about 185 million people would need to be murdered, incinerated, and consigned to landfills. They remember the Nazi’s could not have been so efficient without apathy or active cooperation from majorities of people in the occupied countries. They also remember Abba Eban’s U.N. observer experience. He was told bluntly that 6 million dead Jews had bought him only two years tolerance for efforts to transform the Balfour Declaration into the new Israeli state.

In current confrontations, Israeli’s understands selective moral outrage consistently leads to their worldwide condemnation. They will keep their own counsel.

There is an overwhelmingly large Iranian Jewish community in Los Angeles, mostly in places like Beverly Hills and Encino. There are also many Armenian Jews and Mexican Jews as well. Los Angeles isn't 100% filled with fluffy liberals who hate Israel :)

If they had mentioned “blank” Jewish Leaders, I would have understood, but what they said were “blank” leaders. That wasn’t so easily a sell for me.

I appreciate your response though.
