Liberal reporter all upset that classes on the Constitution are gaining popularity

Liberal reporter all upset that classes on the Constitution are gaining popularity The Washington Post discusses an increasingly popular class taught by Earl Taylor of the National Center for Constitutional Studies. Regular folks want to learn about how the Founding Fathers intended our government to work, and, more importantly in the Age of Obama, how it is not supposed to work. Obviously the liberals in Washington have absolutely no use for the Constitution, which has an annoying habit of getting in their way of Socializing the nation. People are yearning to learn more about how to use the founding document of the Republic to stop them.

So the Post talks about Earl Taylor’s class. The article is quintessential piece of liberal bias masquerading as journalism. It is so slanted, it made me laugh in places. So to shed a little sunlight on the media, let’s make note of the author’s name, Krissah Thompson, who would make a great liberal blogger on HuffPo, but has absolutely no business holding herself out as an objective journalist.

Here is the news part of the story.

Beck is referring to this article today. Article says that these classes appeal to the “kooky fringe Beck listeners”(which will probably help increase class enrollment). Amazing.

I heard that, too!

Went looking for the reference.

Reason to stock up on patriotic books before they’re banned...or modified to reflect Ministry of Truth speak.

And, to send them to our kids.

They must have edited it, since that phrase no longer appears in the article.

Unless you are paraphrasing ...

‘liberals’ in Washington have absolutely no use for the Constitution’

Could we stop calling these people LIBERALS???

They are LEFTIES....

The word liberal is from the word liberty.

Those governing abhor liberty from the government as well as the US Constitution.

Beck said the reference was from the actual front page. Maybe it’s different from the on line version.

“Obviously the liberals in Washington have absolutely no use for the Constitution, which has an annoying habit of getting in their way of Socializing the nation.”

This is a huge exaggeration. The Constitution has put no real limits on Congress power since FDR. Of course, libs don’t want the Constitution coming back. But it’s mostly a theoretical concern.

http://www.nccs.net/. Their studies guides are very reasonably priced and they have options for homeschoolers as well.

The Constitution wasn't amended, so the same limits are still there.

Congress simply rationalized them away in their own minds, and has convinced a large segment of the public that they never existed.

This class distracts Americans from important book recommendations from Oprah, and exposure to the fine arts on American Idol, not to mention proper Constitutional lessons from Nancy "Are you kidding?" Pelosi.

Well. Yes. As I said in my post, the limits are theoretical. I applaud the education effort. But until a significant portion of Congress understands the Constitution and until we have a strong originalist majority on the Supreme Court, the limits will remain theoretical.

Agreed! They're Old School, hardcore, bomb-throwing, headbutting Bolshevik leg breakers. There's nothing "Liberal" about them.

I suspect more of them understand it than abide by it, and won't as long as nobody holds their feet to the fire and makes them.

IMHO, you have to start with getting people to understand they've been lied to, and you do that by telling them the truth. Hopefully, the classes will do that.

The collectivist stealth putsch is coming all unravelled.

Thank you BO, for being the most incompetent and counter productive standard bearer the American left has ever had. You make Carter look tough, Clinton look disciplined, and Gore look wise.

Thank you for setting off every burglar alarm in the country.

Scores of millions are now awake, locked and loaded.

You are correct. All statists detest liberty. From teh sullen clerk to the idle magistrate, they hate and fear free, unfettered people.

Here’s a funny comment that the lib reporter thinks is an indictment of the Constitution classes and is actually an indictment of her and her ilk:

“nary a Democrat among them” [Constitution class students]

Sounds like proof that democRats aren’t too interested in the Constitution these days.

The only reason they started calling themselves “liberals” instead of “progressives” was that the word “progressive” started to have meaning, and it meant FASCIST.

They then changed their name to “liberal”, which today means FASCIST.

Notice they are going back to “progressive”.

And by today’s standards there was nary a Democrat around for the crafting of the Constitution.
