Van der Sloot victim video. This photo is from the hotel's camera and shows Joran van der Sloot exiting the room with Stephany Flores left inside. The video reveals both the suspect and Stephany Flores entering the room which became the murder scene.
"He speaks Spanish fluently and we took a statement from him in Spanish, where he denies any involvement and the charges brought against him," Chilean Investigative Police Officer Fernando Ovalle Gatica said in a statement. "Naturally, he needs to face the murder that took place here and if the courts find him responsible for that murder, he will have to fulfill his sentence here," President Alan Garcia said in a statement. "Don't worry, this murderer will pay. He will pay for what he's done," Stephany's father Ricardo Flores said.
What makes this murder investigation sealed tight is that the video evidence shows Joran van der Sloot entering and leaving the scene. More compelling, is that it just happened to be the fifth anniversary Natalie Holloway's disappearance, to the day. This is why investigators believe the suspect is a serial killer, and if so, there could be more cases involved.
When Van der Sloot left the hotel room, he told the desk attendant, "Don't bother my girl," and was never seen again. For those to believe he is guilty of Holloway's murder, the prison in Peru, isn't so great. Sources say that he's in a dirty jail cell with screaming sounds from other inmates that occur 24 hours a day.
Peru may use some version of the Napoleonic code, Joran bit off a lot more than he can chew this time.
Now if they get a conviction it's probably gonna be 20 years + in the Lori Berenson Suite at Yanamayo Prison (elevation 12,000 feet). I hope the punk brought his oxygen tank.
Which Hollywierd actor do you think is going to be “picked” to play the role of Van der sloot in a movie?
My hunch is he’ll get a life sentence which probably won’t be a long one.
Shouldn't be long before those screaming sounds are his own.
He speaks fluent Spanish -— so he can enjoy everything that’s being shouted at him. HAR!
“unless he was unaware of the video cameras.”
read that it was a seedy $40.00/night hostel. Probably thought there were no cameras. Wonder if they were the type that were hidden?
Oh yeah you look at that face coming out that room and you know there has to be a lot more.
I wouldn't be shocked if this creep turns out to be a serial killer...
In reference to the pic. Does he not have longer darker hair as he walks out of the hostel room?
My understanding is that in Peru the conviction standard is a preponderance of the evidence and 3 judges will decide the case. Based on the victims family connections I suspect some jail justice to be handed to him by his fellow inmates or guards in prison. Dead man walking.
Yup!
Yep, and considering that her father was 2 times a Pres. candidate he won't get off this time. He will get "special care" whatever happens to him.
I don’t really understand what was going on with this guy. Is he a serial killer?
Britney Spears??
He’s toast ...
Fantastic!
I remember seeing an episode of “Locked Up Abroad” about some unfortunate folks who landed themselved in jail there, or perhaps it was Bolivia, I can’t be 100% certain. Apparently, the prison is run by the inmates, and the guards simply ensure that the prisoners don’t walk out the front door. Everything must be paid for by the prisoner. Rent must be paid to gangs, food must be purchased. Basically, if you don’t have someone outside sending you funds, you are done for.
Furthermore, apparently the fact that one is a Englais or gringo entitles you to further abuse. And on top of that, he is a 22 year old gringo who murdered a local girl whose dad is a somebody.
I would love to be able to watch day by day via remote camera what happens to Juran Vander Sloat as he descends into Earth’s Hell. Enjoy your misery, Joran, you deserve it.
You or wouldn't like it, but if he's a psychopath with somewhat higher than average intelligence, a lawless, corrupt prison might be the sort of environment in which he would flourish. Think of Hannibal Lechter, for instance.
