You or wouldn't like it, but if he's a psychopath with somewhat higher than average intelligence, a lawless, corrupt prison might be the sort of environment in which he would flourish. Think of Hannibal Lechter, for instance.

I've been thinking the same thing. He was raised as a player, trained to get over on others by any means possible. Charm, deceit, brute force, whatever the situation calls for. Every step of the way in the NH investigation he treated it as an opportunity to make money out of it.

He's a big boy and obviously used to taking force to the ultimate level when he wants to. Add to that that he is a sociopath and he doesn't really care about consequences to himself any more than he does to others.
