Although he had already been presented before the media, the National Police made Dutch citizen Joran van der Sloot march past (again) when the Interior Minister, Octavio Salazar, held a press conference. In an eventful presentation, and in the company of the Chief of the Main Directorate of the Police, Miguel Noble, Salazar avoided giving details of the investigation.
The unusual event was crowned when the presumed murderer of Stephany Flores was shown before journalists for the third time, which generated disorder in the Interior Department headquarters.
The police minister and authorities refused to respond to the questions that the journalists tried to ask them.

Flores said police wouldn’t let him see his daughter’s
battered body. His oldest son, 35, identified her at the morgue, and the casket was closed at her funeral.
Also, I read at WS that Mark Fuhrman said that the room was not trashed and bloody all over. I suspect that it will be months before the FACTS of this case are available to the general public.
The more incidents with Holder's unique fingerprints upon them like this one, the more distrust citizens have of the entire administration and its team of what seem to be people unable to perform their jobs who should be terminated and replaced. Understanding how businesses are run and demanding that those who work for them perform professionally and adeptly is something clearly lacking here. Greased palms, repaying old acquaintances and bartering for jobs, agendas and special deals equate to a Chicago mentality out of place elsewhere.
Whether is was a baseball bat or a tennis racquet. Whether she was missing an eyeball or not. Vanderpsycho is toast. He will get Dahmerized in prison.

I agree with you. Some anonymous prisoner now lurking in a Peruvian cell will find it all too tempting to achieve immortality and be forever remembered as the person who killed Van der Sloot.
“Is this arguable in court that his right to a fair trial has been impaired, or dont they have that concern in Peru?”
LOL! That’s the least of his worries.
Peru is a Napoleonic code country. I.e. presumption of guilt. They also have the distinction of having some of the most brutal prisons in the western hemisphere. An interesting twist on penal management: the Peruvian state provides the walls and guards the exterior, but leaves the inmates to run the interior. As an inmate, you pay for your food, your cell, your clothing, etc.
Outside of perhaps China, I can’t think of a more stupid place to commit a serious crime.
It'll take a week or two in the prison before his true Nancy-boy nature shows.
Cheers!
All I saw on his face was a cocky smirk. His day is coming.
wow, and we are supposed to be glad about that? I am glad he is captured, but come on now...show a little grace!
Looked to me like boyfriend pooped in his pants.
Oh man, is he in for one long tour through hell.
Good for the bastard , now he’ll REALLY know what it’s like to experience fear and pain.
I saw a little fear but not much. Mostly his defiant attitude reflected in his body posture and eyes. Defiance means arrogance in these circumstances. I doubt he is in a prison right now. They probably have him in a local lockup so he’s quickly available for the time being. Until they’re done with the trial they aren’t going to let anything happen to him.
Apparently, Salazar thought this would be good PR for himself, but he’s giving Joran media attention which he loves.

Ostensibly, this individual is a very important person.
That is, video cameras associated with FOXnews, CNN news etc. are all focused on this individual's run from Peru to Chili....You'd think this guy was on the level of Aldrich Ames or Robert Hanssen...but, then, most people wouldn't even know the other two names I just previously mentioned.
In other news, I have to get up and go to work tomorrow morning. (Yawn)
It IS a shame his Daddy wasn’t around to see Joran’s perp walk on TV. After all, some of what his son became is due to Daddy’s covering up for him. For who knows HOW long?
Joran may be joining Daddy down where it’s hotter than Aruba before long. I know he’s got a bullet proof vest on, but his head is bare...
Although this looks very blatant, our cops, District Attorneys, FBI, and justice system do the exact same thing.
When "white collar" criminals are brought to courthouses, the cops know these guys are not going to pull a shank out of their trousers and knife them like some gang banger punk. But, they make them do the "perp walk" before the cameras as well. Some of the Enron executives (who were later never convicted) drove to the courthouse in a van free of handcuffs, but it stopped a couple of blocks of the cameras and media camped out there, put handcuffs on all of them, and then opened the doors to haul them out right in front of the reporters.
So, while the Peruvians were very blatant about it, we do the same thing.
But, that's Okay. Van der Sloot is a very evil man. This guy's parents put him in "therapy" when he was a little boy because he had taken a baseball bat to the family dog and beaten the poor thing to a pulp.
Yes, the “perp walk” in the US is very popular.
But Joran had already done the Peruvian perp walk.
What they did here was a second very unusual perp walk——bringing Joran to a Peruvian official’s press conference so the world could watch him being manhandled by the beefy cops.....that was the unusual part.
I’m glad they did it....nice to to see the little worm squirm. But it’s not the procedure seen in the US.
Kudos to the Peruvians-—we should do that here.
