Europe still worships him and Washington's Obamatrons remain smitten, but former supporters are turning on the President, writes Toby Harnden.
Well, at least he's still got Sir Paul McCartney. At the White House last week, the 67-year-old crooner was gushing in much the same manner as his own groupies did at Shea Stadium in 1965. "I'm a big fan, he's a great guy," McCartney told American critics of President Barack Obama. "So lay off him, he's doing great."
It’s also not racist to bash obama. If you’re black, you bash his black half. If you’re white, you bash is white half.
Does McCartney's political leaning really surprise you? I mean, really!?
I don’t get this cool persona spin.
In my neighborhood we call this “deer in the headlights”.
Whatcha got against wookies?
Bought a bumper sticker months ago that said pretty much that same phrase — figured it would be useful in the near future and now it is!
I always liked Paul best too. In fact I took my family to see him in Atlanta last year and It was a great experience! At the time, I had a discussion with my son who is a musician, about how McCartney could be so successful without any foul language or political comments during his show. Very Disappointing this outburst!
When Paul McCartney says he thinks you’re a great guy that’s pretty much the official un-official announcement that you’re a major dork.
Coffee *everywhere*.
LETTERMAN(!) actually said that??
That’s hard to believe.I would have to see a link or the transcript.
That would be a bearded Spock universe moment if he really said that.
No link to the article!
Here’s what you want:
“Even the liberal chattering classes are deserting Obama. Maureen Dowd of the New York Times jeered that his “Yes we can” slogan had been downgraded to “Will we ever?”, while fellow columnist Frank Rich blasted his “recurrent tardiness in defining exactly what he wants done”.”
He allowed the fragile ecosystem be destroyed while playing and letting BP run the show. Those young people really do believe the green crap.
I rather think it’s because of the economy. If the economy were at least stable, then I am sure that he would be getting a free pass, if booming, there would be churches erected in his name for his groupies. But with the economy in pieces, people literally losing their homes, and jobs, bank accounts, children losing everything their parents gave them, stuff like that.
Again, as has been said, “It’s the economy, stupid!”
Does this surprise anyone? The left put the Obamessiah so high on that pedestal, he had no where to go but down. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Yes. The left, since at least the ‘30s, has been furious with reality.
I have an anti-Obama bumper sticker on my car and live in Maryland, just a little bit liberal. I’ve had many positive comments from people on the road and zero negatives.
It’s the Gulf (not golf), Stupid.
Barry’s Problem (BP)...Day 47...and counting...
LOL
Whew - for a minute I thought you were calling ME 'stupid'! ;o)
I may be, but you don't know me well enough to know for sure
McCartney’s just another air head. I’ll try to compartmentalize and enjoy his music, but if anyone is influenced by his political opinion, such a loser is just an air head too.
I like Laura Bush, but she’s an air head. She’s a wonderful lady, but not a clue about Kagan or immigration.
I like Donald Sutherland, Danny Glover, and Jack Nichols — air heads all. Who expects a clown or a drugged up singer to make any sense anyway?
