In the hubbub surrounding the “battle of the flotilla,” Netanyahu’s quick reversal of his decision to remain in the United States has been largely ignored. It turns out that Obama told him to leave because he didn’t want Netanyahu to use the White House as a stage on which to present Israel’s side of the story.
The flotilla violence caught Netanyahu in the midst of a diplomatic trip to North America. He was in the Canadian capital of Ottawa at the time, about to leave for Washington for a meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama. The meeting was to have been a way for Obama to make up for the humiliation he dealt Netanyahu on his last visit, when he refused to be seen with the Israeli leader in public.
Netanyahu announced immediately after the flotilla news broke that he would remain in North America and would meet with Obama as scheduled. However, within minutes after media reported Netanyahu would continue with his trip as scheduled, he abruptly announced a change of plan and set off immediately for Israel to “deal with the flotilla crisis.”
Behind the scenes, it was Obama officials who caused the turnabout. Globes cites sources in both Jerusalem and Washington who say that Obama officials gave a clear message to Netanyahu’s people: “Don’t come.”

Tell me again Sean Hannity what Lieberman said when thanking the President for his support for Israel during the Flotilla crises? Think he got his titles crossed as it was the veep who came to their defense while Zero straddled the fence.
That’s fine but your primary example is 8 people and everyone else perished. That’s not going to happen this time. You can’t guarantee just because you’re Christian you’re getting through anything unscathed or alive. Or to use your example, you can’t know if you’re “one of the 8”.
As for the US, in the year and a half since Obama took office he has fundamentally restructured US foreign policy in a manner that rewards US enemies at the expense of US allies. From Honduras and Colombia to Britain, Poland, and the Czech Republic, to Japan and India to Israel, Iraq and Afghanistan, Obama has treated US allies with contempt and hostility. At the same time, his repeated bids to woo US adversaries have rewarded the leaders of Iran, Venezuela, Russia and others for their aggression.
Israel of course is the US's most threatened ally. And Obama's treatment of Israel has been uniquely shabby--and dangerous. Guided by his ideological worldview which argues that US support for Israel is the root of the Arab and Islamic world's animus towards the US, Obama has advanced a policy of punishing Israel and wooing its worst enemies that has radically changed the Islamic power calculus. By seeking to appease Iran and Syria for their aggressive behavior and by courting an ever more radical Turkish regime, Obama has humiliated Egypt and Jordan that signed peace treaties with Israel. In so doing, he has convinced the Arabs that the only way to retain and expand their power is by attacking Israel.

Baraq Sheik Obobma won’t give Netanyahu a forum to defend his country, but he’s fine with giving Calderon a forum to badmouth America, it’s laws, and its citizens.

Obama could have had a press conference, standing WITH Netanyahu, telling the terrorists that it is not acceptable for them to attack and commending Israel for NOT sinking the entire ship in retaliation.
THAT would have sent a powerful message to the terrorists and terrorist supporting countries.
But unfortunately, we are talking about Obama...

IN LOS ANGELES on Monday, a crowd of Muslims carrying signs calling for Israel's destruction gathered outside the Israeli Consulate.As they shouted Allahu Akhbar, a lone Jewish high school student carrying an Israeli flag appeared on the scene. Suddenly, the protesters forgot that they were supposed to be demonstrating against the State of Israel and began threatening this single Jewish boy who held his head high and waved the Israeli flag.
As they converged around him, a cordon of policemen headed them off and surrounded the young Jewish boy who refused to be intimidated. Speaking to reporters, clearly moved by his courage, the boy said, "I came out because I want to defend Israel." Asked if he was affiliated with any group, he responded, "Just Judaism and Israel."

This happened in Los Angeles. On our American soil. In the year 2010.

There is no more sitting on the sidelines just watching anymore. People are being forced to choose sides and it looks like the big showdown between good and evil is in the wings.

Just like Obama sent the message out that the union thugs were free to beat up on tea party participants. Just like Obama sent the message that the black panthers were free to intimidate voters. Just like Obama sent the message that jihadis were free to wage jihad against our soldiers. And it goes on and on like that with everything the man has touched. They insisted, among other things, that the Israeli commandos who carried out the operation, armed only with paintball rifles and handguns, acted in self-defense after coming under attack from passengers brandishing iron bars, knives and other crude weapons.
