PHOENIX (AP) The National Rifle Association has endorsed John McCain in Arizona's Republican Senate primary.

In my state (Georgia) the NRA releases grades for candidates, I don’t ever remember them endorsing one over another unless it’s an A vs an F. Maybe it’s because my state is very 2nd Amendment friendly and it’s not unusual to see both candidates with an A rating. Except around Atlanta.
At my house we have one Benefactor Member of the NRA and one Life Member. We won’t be leaving the organization, but they’ll never get another cent from either of us.
Right now all our donation money is going to JD. After the election ALL our gun support money will be going to GOA and The Second Amendment Foundation.
Is the NRA on crack?
GUN OWNERS OF AMERICA is where it is now.
Larry Pratt, et al are serious as a heart attack on the 2nd Amendment and, to my knowledge, have NEVER caved on the RTKABA and would never have endorsed McLame.
NRA also backs Hairy Reid. The NRA will never see a penny from me again.
Guess you never heard of Gun Owners of America (GOA). The NRA has always had a RINO streak like old Bill Ruger had with carry guns and hi cap mags.
My guess is you probably never owned a real gun.
NRA board member (movie director) John Milius recently signed the pledge defending Roman Polanski. A real shame because I liked him. Seems like the NRA is filled with RINOs and friends of child rapist/pedophiles.
How revolting. Seriously. Thank you Frantzie.
It’s readily apparent that a lot of so called purists around here go off the deep end regarding endorsements re NRA, Palin, et al. If you don’t support my candidate, you must be a despicable RINO is the typical jargon. That type of tunnel vision is self defeating in the long run. None of the people or organizations they are criticizing are perfect, but neither are their candidates. To defeat a common enemy (i.e. the Demo Commie leftists in control), you need allies, not create more enemies or fly off the handle.
The NRA typically will endorse incumbents, including Democrats, if they have been congruent with legislation supported or opposed by NRA. While that doesn’t meet the purity test, the flamers in Washington in gun rights areas are scared $h!tless of the NRA. That is helping keep the gun control @$$h0les at bay. An enemy of our enemy should be closer to a friend than an enemy. Make no mistake, the current Administration and Congress is our enemy.
The litmus test as it relates to endorsements continues to be counter productive to the ultimate short term objective. Temporizing is often a sound move to achieve the long term objective.
Speak positively about your candidates. Speak negatively about the Demo leftists.
I live in AZ, and so does my kids and their spouses, my mother and my brother. We all detest McCain and would vote for a rattlesnake against him.
The one he should worry about is my mother and her friends, the old ladies who usually support McCain based on his military record. They are against him too. McCain is running for his traitorous life.
That’s how I feel. I will keep my general membership but won’t give to NRA_ILA anymore.
It figures. Amnesty pusher Grover Norquist is on the NRA board.
What about GOA?
>The NRA typically will endorse incumbents, including Democrats,
Believe it or not, the NRA backs Harry Reid in Nevada. The GOA is backing Sharron Angle. FWIW, I’m a lifetime member of both organizations.
I only belong to the NRA so I can be a member of the local gun club. It is a requirement.
>For those wanting an alternative to the NRA, don’t give to GOA (they have since changed their name anyway).
Really? To what? Do you have a link? This is the first I’ve heard of this.
My, my- how kind of you to make such a wild assumption. I've been shooting since I was 11, and I own two guns. But even that probably doesn't pass your bloody purity test. :-Þ
And you’re a newbie compared to me, so I don’t care what you think.
