It’s readily apparent that a lot of so called purists around here go off the deep end regarding endorsements re NRA, Palin, et al. If you don’t support my candidate, you must be a despicable RINO is the typical jargon. That type of tunnel vision is self defeating in the long run. None of the people or organizations they are criticizing are perfect, but neither are their candidates. To defeat a common enemy (i.e. the Demo Commie leftists in control), you need allies, not create more enemies or fly off the handle.
The NRA typically will endorse incumbents, including Democrats, if they have been congruent with legislation supported or opposed by NRA. While that doesn’t meet the purity test, the flamers in Washington in gun rights areas are scared $h!tless of the NRA. That is helping keep the gun control @$$h0les at bay. An enemy of our enemy should be closer to a friend than an enemy. Make no mistake, the current Administration and Congress is our enemy.
The litmus test as it relates to endorsements continues to be counter productive to the ultimate short term objective. Temporizing is often a sound move to achieve the long term objective.
Speak positively about your candidates. Speak negatively about the Demo leftists.
>The NRA typically will endorse incumbents, including Democrats,
Believe it or not, the NRA backs Harry Reid in Nevada. The GOA is backing Sharron Angle. FWIW, I’m a lifetime member of both organizations.
