McCain: Disconnect between Washington D.C. and people (McCain claims he has never backed amnesty)
News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Ariz. ^ | 2010-06-03 | Nathan Bruttrell

Sen. John McCain’s town hall meeting reflected his packed schedule during his visit Wednesday as he ran the gamut of his campaign.

McCain, who visited Lake Havasu City for the second time in three months, spoke about several issues including immigration, health care, the economy and foreign affairs during a Town Hall meeting Wednesday afternoon at the Hampton Inn. McCain’s stop in Havasu followed Town Hall meetings in Clifton and Parker as well as appearances at the Lake Havasu Chamber of Commerce, Fire Station No. 2 and the grand opening of his Mohave County Campaign Office in Havasu. McCain said the visit was important so he could let the citizens know first hand his stances on issues leading into the August primary, when he faces a challenge from former Congressman J.D. Hayworth.

McCain said the problem with spending is one that will hurt future generations.

“We’ve mortgaged the futures of our children and committed generational theft,” he said.

“I’ll bet you a lot of people in this room have been to tea parties. The frustration is out there and it’s deserved because there is a disconnect between Washington D.C. and the people. … That’s why the tea parties are important.”

(snip)

McCain later spoke about his plans for immigration, adding that he does not support amnesty and that the answer is “better border security.” He also said Gov. Jan Brewer “has done a great job on this issue.”

(snip)

McCain, who did not mention his opponents until asked, responded to Hayworth’s previous claims that he was more conservative than McCain.

“You can’t be a conservative and believe in earmarks and pork barreling which is what he’s done,” McCain said.

JD needs a new campaign manager. He’s got such an easy, soft target yet can’t seem to hit the broad side of a barn.

Boy, talk about bald-faced liars.

Has he every heard of the McCain-Kennedy Amnesty Bill? It wasn’t all that long ago, Juan.

McCain never considered the immigration reform “amnesty”. He gets angry when people say the path to citizenship is amnesty.

You're right. He never never mentioned the word "amnesty" but that's what it was.

Now he has hijacked the illegal immigration issue from J.D as if he was always fighting for securing the borders.

So far, I have received four robo calls from the "friends of John McCain".

Anyone else notice how he is practically a regular on FNC lately?

J.D. does not seem to be running a very high profile campaign.

Oh, most of it is that they simply stop thinking once their goal is accomplished, that is, once they feel good about themselves for espousing some position or another.

They (the feelgood sheep) don’t INTEND to turn America into a Socialist/Communist country. They just INTEND to “help others” and feel good about themselves for wanting to.

Is McCain serious? If he is, he is suffering from some serious delusions over his senatorial career of late. He was one of the chief cheerleaders for the bailouts and has been the biggest advocate for amnesty for as long as I can remember.

He really doesn’t expect Arizona voters to buy these tremendous lies...does he? (I’m just going to go bang my head against the nearest wall.)

True enough.

However, given the abundance of available facts . . .

they are still clueless complicit idiots.

McCain has serious reality issues.

As do virtually all legislators inside the Beltway.

McCain does not call giving a law breaker a fine of $1000 and placing them legally at the end of the line instead of out of the country amnesty.

He likes to think giving them a thousand dollar fine then giving them legal access to food stamps, wic, $7000 a kid public school education, free medical, free housing and maybe $600 a month free baby sitting services isn't amnesty.

I kind of think he is awarding illegals a free ride with potential citizenship which is even worse than amnesty IMO.

McQueeg’s internal polling must be showing JD Hayworth closing the gap. McQueeg is swerving even further to the right.

The plain facts are intentionally ignored and suppressed (Rom 1:18-19)

because of the lie that they believe - that they are basically “a good person”.

I have a lib-in-law that claims she (and all democrats) are not socialists - “socialism’s what they had in the Soviet Union, that’s not what democrats want”.

This is what Lenin meant when he coined the term "useful idiots".

““You can’t be a conservative and believe in earmarks and pork barreling which is what he’s done,” McCain said.”

And so has McCain, only bigger and better. He was a huge pork barreler before he started using it as a campaign point..and TARP...what about that you old liar.

Never supported AMNESTY???

Just the other day:
Dream Act chances not good this time, according to McCain (MCCAIN STILL WANTS AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2518693/posts

[snip]McCain: “Obviously, in cases where people have been here for many many many years that would be a path to citizenship, but they would still have to pay a penalty because they came illegally”
_________

* May 29, 2003 interview: McCain: “Amnesty has to be an important part because there are people who have lived in this country for 20, 30 or 40 years, who have raised children here and pay taxes here and are not citizens.“

* Dec. 15, 2000 press release: McCain: ”I support the Latino and Immigrant Fairness Act (LIFA). Negotiations between the White House and the leadership, which endorsed more limited immigration reform, have resulted in a compromise.... this bill makes meaningful but insufficient progress on amnesty for those wrongly denied it.“

THE POLITICOS HAVE HELD THE COMMON PEOPLE IN CONTEMPT FOR DECADES.

They haven’t a shred of decency.
Nor a shred of patriotism.
Nor a shred of authentic humanity.

bits of human garbage . . . with few exceptions.

Go away McLame. You were a pandering douchebag on immigration for years, and your crappy campaign allowed BO in the White House.

Take your big mouthed, empty headed daughter, Princess Krispy Kreme, and just get gone. You’ve done enough.
