A U.S. citizen who lived in Turkey is among the nine people killed when Israeli commandos stormed a Turkish aid ship heading for the Gaza Strip, officials said today. The victim was identified as Furkan Dogan, 19, a Turkish-American. A forensic report said he was shot at close range, with four bullets in his head and one in his chest, according to the Anatolian news agency.
Dogan was a high school student studying social sciences in the town of Kayseri in central Turkey. He was born in the United States and moved to Turkey at the age of 2. He will be buried in his hometown tomorrow.
The body was returned to Turkey today along with eight others, all Turkish nationals, who were on board the Mavi Maramara.

He is as American—in his loyalty and love of country—as the members of Congress who cheered a foreign kleptocrat as he slandered the people of Arizona.
.
Sounds like he was a Furkan idiot.
I don't get it. This kid was 19, but in the paragraph above they say the dead range from 32 to 61. Lousy writing? Lousy reporting? Lousy editing? Or a lie?
And they say the names of the dead have been released, but what are those names? Is it some kind of secret? Why are they not listed in this "article?"
I’m guessin he may have taken one in the chest by the IDF and then the terrorists put 4 in the noggin to make the IDF look especially bloodthirsty. ABCNews dutifully reported it was done at close range so this sounds like a setup with the lapdogs in the LSM falling into line.
“He was raised in an Islamic Country.
Where do you think his loyalty is.”
Who does this remind of us?
Double tap and a half.
Given the state of our media, all could be true and at the same time.
Right
Raised as a Muslim.
Let's cut to the chase: 4 shots at close range to the head and one to the chest sounds a lot more like a case of shooting the wounded, than an indication of "good shooting."
As I always told my kids, when they were teens, and did dumb things, STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES! that phrase kept them out of a lot of trouble!
I was actually just reading a DU thread on this topic. They complain that we won’t be outraged at this (just as we were not outraged at Rachel Corrie).
Honestly, is that not something to be proud of? We are often accused of being excessivley nationalistic, when, in reality, we just support those that are on the right side of the fight. We are accused of being xenophobic and racist ... except our reaction to Rachel Corrie (a white girl) is identical to our reaction to this guy (a Turkish man).
Would it not be hypocritical to support Israel when they take out non-American bad guys ... and then to get outraged when one of the dead happens to be a US Citizen? Is it not hypocritical of liberals to play the “American citizen” card at every opportunity, but to ignore the deaths of American citizens at the hands of Islamic terrorists at Ft. Hood, the WTC, The Pentagon, and in Iraq and Afghanistan?

I need to practice my aim more, I am not THAT GOOD YET!
As long as they were 'legal'
He was born here but I thought in order for you to be considered an American Citizen, you had to have lived in the U.S. 5 years AFTER your 14th birthday??
Or is it just the case of the mother transferring citizenship to her child, such as the case with Obambi?
Yeah, this reply shows the depth of your intelligence.
Prayers for a misguided soul.
He was over 18, an adult. He knew where he was going. He knew the danger. If they shot him, he must have been one of the attackers!
If these people were attacking us here in Texas, we would shoot them dead! And in Texas we have the Castle Law and we can shoot to kill. I think that may be why a lot of liberal democrats don’t come here to speak and campaign. But we will not shoot them! But they fear us. And as I said, we won’t shoot them!
What Recession? Know it all libs and terrorist sympathizers seem to have plenty of money.
Think about that while you’re job hunting!
Bulldozer, actually.
Not that it matters much to the squashee ...
