I live in Rochester, NH, near the seacoast. The smoke is heavy enough to make me think there was something nearby on fire. It smells like burning grass (which I gather it is), but I live over 200 miles from the source.

Noticeable haze and smell here in Mass. Mother Nature is adding a lot of carbon to the atmosphere.

Happened here in Georgia from the Florida wildfires. Mother Nature eventually does heal herself - count on it.

We have the same smoke here in Ottawa today.
Our media is claiming that it is coming from fires in the US...

Mother nature does indeed heal herself...I remember my dad saying...after a huge ice storm here in NYS..."God sure does know how to prune!!"
It did get rid of hundreds of old dead trees including one at my apt complex. When we looked at the fallen tree...it was almost hollow inside.

The EPA will blame NH. They always blame Boise, ID whenever we get California’s wild fire smoke.

Well, that’s good to know.
I spent the morning denying that I was burning anything to the boss’s (wife’s) complaints.
This is one of those rare events where it really wasn’t my fault!

LOL! I live in Rochester NH too and that's what I thought when I woke up! I even drove around for a while looking for the source.
I was up til 1am fishing last night and it wasn't the slightest bit smoky, but the wind has shifted - it must have all blown in during the wee hours.
Thanks for the heads-up.

It was thick here in Southern Maine yesterday, maybe 40 miles closer to the fires than you are. Not so bad today.

We have the same smoke here in Ottawa today.Ditto. I smelled it when I woke up this morning (I live near downtown) and when I first saw the news story around noon, couldn't believe that much smoke was in the air from that far away.
Fortunately, the air smells a lot cleaner now.

I just read that Salem, Ma has the scent of smoke.
