ESPN's Weissman: Despite Exoneration 'The Questions Remain' About Duke Lacrosse Players
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

What will it take for the MSM to stop smearing the falsely-accused Duke lacrosse players? Judging by the performance of ESPN's Steve Weissman this morning, legal exoneration is not enough.

Introducing an ESPNNEWS item on a lacrosse game between Duke and the University of Virginia, Weissman claimed that three years ago, the Duke team had been involved in "a devastating scandal," and that while the accused players had been exonerated, "the questions remain."

What should the crime be exactly?

What is legal and what is moral are different things. Hiring a stripper is immoral. Hiring a stripper (’adult dancer’ is just a euphemism for stripper) in a school zone should be illegal, imo.

Look up the crime of moral turpitude. Also for a intellectual tour — look up the criminal behaviors of lewdness, pandering, public indecency, ‘contributing to the delinquency of a minor’. Given that the procurers in this case are said to Seniors, and there were freshmen, I’m wondering if ‘contributing to the delinquency of a minor’ was one of the charges.

This is old school stuff, but many people are no longer aware such things were crimes.

I think I answered that exactly enough for the purpose of this discussion in response 82.

“...what they did was also a crime, and if not currently on the books it should be.”

That was your statement that I was referring to. You said that they committed a crime regardless of if it was on the books or not. You cant break a law that doesnt exist.

If you think stripping should be a crime, then try to outlaw it. If you think college students hiring strippers for a party will lead them to being Marxists, then try to outlaw it. But these kids did nothing wrong legally.

Oh good. The morality police are here to set us all straight. I’m so thankful. She could just as well have been a wacko female plumber that they invited into their house. Your argument disappears.

God Himself could wrest the microphone out of this pinhead’s hands, ‘miracle’ a vision that showed exactly what happened, and this pinhead would accept the microphone back from God and say, “Yeah, but how can we trust something DIDN’T happen?”

Hiring strippers and pole dancers should be a misdemeanor anywhere near a college campus.

What else do you want to make illegal? How about alcohol or tobacco. Should they be illegal anywhere near a college campus? A lot more damage is done by alcohol even though it's illegal for those under 21.

Are you part of the morality police? You can see as much skin on the beaches of Miami as you can with Exotic Dancers. I said it was juvenile and wasn't a classy thing to do. But remember these students are 18-22 year old males and in the grander scheme of things, this wasn't all that outrageous. Part of being young is to do some things like this. When you look at the behavior of many other 18-22 year olds, this is about has minor as it gets. I did some crazy things when I was at their age. By in large these Duke students are going to make fine law abiding citizens one day and those of you who think that a college campus or just off campus is going to be like a Monastery are being very foolish. There, I again hope that I was civil.

You are completely missing the boat. Having sex at all out of wedlock should be a felony, and armed men should toss stun grenades in dorm rooms and burst in with machineguns firing, to arrest these Moral Turpitude Felons.

Kiddo, it is exactly the environment of moral chaos and confusion that modern US colleges have allowed and ENCOURAGED to established that is Marxism's greatest recruiting tool.

Look up the Communist Party USA agenda reported in 1963:

18. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them censorship and a violation of free speech and free press.

19. Break down culture standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and T.V.

20. Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity, as normal, natural, healthy.

.

Our enemies know how effective a debased moral culture is as a recruiting ground for those seek some kind of moral anchor.

The Marxists know it and have implemented it exceedingly well over the past two generations on college campuses. Mark the changeover to roughly 1970, a few years sooner or later depending on region.

The fundy Islamicists know it too, and are exploiting it to recruit the morally disenfranchised.

The cults that hang around college campuses have also exploited such cultural moral failings, persistently.

In other words -- OUR enemies all know this weakness, but you ignore it, even you seem to glory in the libertine amorality of modern college campuses.

Do I have that right?

Lay off those young men! If hiring cheap tramps becomes a crime like you want it to be, a significant portion of the country will be behind bars. So they hired a couple of cheap tramps for a night of ‘entertainment’. They more than paid for it after all was said and done.

Get off their backs. If you feel so sinless and perfect, try walking on water. Should cure your delusions quite quickly.

Laz, okay, I'll wack back.

You of all people should know better. Exactly how has you life gone?

Was it better when you stuck to some decent moral code or better when you fell prey to the libertine.

I kinda can guess what your public answer will be, but like any long-term Freeper, this is kind of a small village, eh?

In other words: whether you get real or not, reality is what it is, your real life is what it is.

Bearing false witness against one’s neighbor is as immoral as it gets.

Only in your addled mind.

These young men and their families were raked over the coals by the MSM and sanctimonious hypocrites such as yourself for MONTHS. And for what??? Hiring a couple of morally bankrupt girls to strip at a party. Only one girl CHOSE to have sex for money. She didn’t like the cash tossed her way, so she cried rape. SHE should have been rotting in prison for that lie. Why? Because that little piece of human garbage made it that much harder for ANY rape victim to now be believed.

Those young men may have put the chain of events into motion, but they in no way deserved the results it caused.

The only criminal in this whole sordid tale was this lying POS.

This guy seems to completely miss the problem. The problem isn’t that a bunch of college guys hired a lap dancer. The problem is that she falsely accused all of them of aggravated sexual assault and rape.

Let’s see here, depending on where you live, what might the penalty be for hiring a lap dancer versus aggravated sexual assault and rape?

Sheesh. I sometimes cannot believe what I read on this forum.

Laz, ignore him!

bvw.... you might want to check the difference between a repentant sinner....

...and what God thinks of self -righteous, moralizing types !......and figure out where you stand.

Think about it.
