ESPN's Weissman: Despite Exoneration 'The Questions Remain' About Duke Lacrosse Players
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

What will it take for the MSM to stop smearing the falsely-accused Duke lacrosse players? Judging by the performance of ESPN's Steve Weissman this morning, legal exoneration is not enough.

Introducing an ESPNNEWS item on a lacrosse game between Duke and the University of Virginia, Weissman claimed that three years ago, the Duke team had been involved in "a devastating scandal," and that while the accused players had been exonerated, "the questions remain."

and that while the accused players had been exonerated, "the questions remain."

Here are just some of the questions that remain:

1. How come the story dropped out of the media almost overnight after the players were exonerated?

2. How come people like Nancy Grace, who basically called the Lacrosse players guilty, didn't show up for work the next day? How come those like Nancy (there were many in the media) never apologized for their irresponsible actions.

3. How come people like Jessie Jackson & Al Sharpton (professional race hustlers) were never questioned about the whole affair after the exonerated?

4. How come the president of Duke still has his job after one of the most despicable displays of cowardice in memory?

5. Why no charges were ever filed against the accuser?

6. How come the New York Times got everything wrong from the get go? And it wasn't just the NYT.

I can think of many more questions, but I got to go and prepare for Memorial Day family gathering.

I watched the game last night. The play-by-play guys got so wrapped up in The Frame and the Yeardley Love murder they talked about it more than the game. I finally had to mute the sound.

She is in jail on unrelated charges. Assaulting her boyfriend. Her children called 911.

Pathetic whore. And that goes for the ESPN lice too.

AND the professors at Duke who were so quick to condemn these students.

You know what? The players did more than just open their doors to these two prostitutes, they SEARCHED them out.

While the crime they were charged with was false, what they did was also a crime, and if not currently on the books it should be.

Just read on NJ.com that Reade will be joining the Innocence Project.

Remember that ESPN was deep into spreading the story of the “savage attack” on Crystal.

That ESPN report from the emergency room was some kind of fabrication.

Well, I think a lot of questions remain about Weissman’s wife beating.

Just one more reason why I don’t normally watch ESPN! The liberal media is the liberal media, sports or news. Cripes, even the Weather Channel is totally liberal. Thank God for the internet, otherwise we’d never get news, weather or sports.....trueful and correct!

I agree, there are still a number of questions that have never been answered...

Why wasn’t the accuser prosecuted? Why haven’t the Duke University professors who put their name on the fliers labeling the players as rapists disciplined? Why wasn’t the prosecutor criminally charged and why didn’t he spend time in jail?

As an aside, just a few notes.... I believe this is the first national championship game for Duke. Congrats to them. The game between Duke & UVA was amazing. Interestingly enough, UVA beat Stony Brook in the quarterfinals, 10-9, the school where I played (3rd string) goalie back when they were the Patriots, and they were NCAA DIV III. When they went DIV I, I lost my eligibility. And at the time, our LAX coach John Espy had come from Duke!

What questions remain???? Why that woman is so bat*@&# crazy?? Who are the multitude of men who left their DNA in that woman? How on earth, with that DNA evidence, were any of those Duke players ever even considered suspects? Why were 88 professors allowed to assume guilt and violate policies set forth in Duke’s own handbook? Why were the New Black Panthers allowed anywhere near any of the Duke players on campus? Those are the questions I would like answered. But I have zero questions about the Duke players. And I wish Joe Chesire and the rest of their legal team would go after this guy and every other person who continues to smear these innocent boys.

No, none of them are at Duke. One of them graduated in the midst of the drama and the other two left to attend other schools.

"...the questions remain...

Questions? There are pictures of the shaky whore doing her thing surrounded by a group of bored lacrosse players.

A couple of those shots would answer the question "Would anyone drunk or sober touch that?"

Agatha has seen them and she does not lie.

While undoubtedly lacking in taste, hiring dancers is NOT A CRIME. Further, two of the boys were NOT involved in hiring the dancers and left the party. Making the stupid decision to hire that psychotic woman does not justify being charged with and facing significant prison time for a crime they didn’t commit.

So tell me...what is it you teach at Duke?

4 years, actually, Michael.

None of the 3 falsely-accused players are at Duke now (Reade at Brown, Collin at Loyola, Dave graduated Duke in 2006).

But there may still be a few of the non-indicted Duke 2005/06 freshmen who are playing this year, having taken advantage of the additional year of eligibility that the NCAA gave the non-seniors on the 2006 team. I’m thinking that Ned Crotty is one of those.

I'm going to try and be civil. It's gonna be tough after your comments. I'm going to assume you know nothing about what the whole episode was about and you must have got your info from the MSM. And therein lies the problem. But in short you don't know what you are talking about.

No what they did was NOT a crime and should NOT be a crime. It may have been Juvenile but their behavior was not out of line with goes on in colleges fraternities (although technically the lacrosse players were not a frat). Believe me I know of what I speak.

It's not unusual for Frats to hire exotic dancers. This has been done for a long time. It's not illegal in the area that they are in. It's a legit business. It's not a classy thing but things are what they are.

I won't go into the details because it would take too much time to go over it all. But if you want a full account of what happened, get the book Until Proven Innocent by Stuart Taylor. There you can be educated on this shameful affair. You will find that two of the accused weren't even there when the dancers performed. You need to get educated before making asinine comments. There I tried to be civil.

The questions remain???

We know now exactly how fast liberal, enlightened, “Progressive” college professors are willing to pillory and hang any white male, before a trail, before a sentence of guilty ... just hang them because they are accused white males.

We know how far out of their way prosecutors are willing to go to “get a win” regardless of fact, regardless of justice, regardless of truth.

We know how sleazeball racist opportunists like Jackson and Sharpton are willing to, like their liberal, enlightened, “Progressive” slavemasters, publicly pillory the accused white males, and stir racial hate among the supposedly victimized blacks.

The only question that remains is how much longer America will put up with this sort of perverse liberal bullshit.
