looking for a good movie or documentary on the Hurtgen Forest battle
I loved Twit! He was one of the first that I talked to when I signed up at FR. I really miss seeing him around the forum!
Another whose absence is felt daily is my good FRiend michigander. He was my goto guy for all things HTML. He would patiently explain how to do what I was trying to do and how it worked. He also had a killer sense of humor! I miss you bud!
I miss HYDROSHOCK. I don’t know why he never came back or if he was not allowed back. I never knew why he was banned. I have to wonder if he didn’t come back under a new name, but I miss his valuable insight about the economy.
This has to be the worst hijacking of a thread I have ever seen. A quest for movie recommendations goes off topic at post 3 and goes on for another 250 posts of nostalgia, never to go back on topic again.
I suggest you start a new thread asking again for movies on the Battle of Hurtgen Forest. Being the longest single battle in US military history, you would think there would be a movie or two about it, yet a Google search comes up with none aside from “When Trumpets Fade.” It is a good, gritty anti-war film that comes full circle, but it really has noething to do with the Battle of the Hurtgen Forest. This movie could have been set about anywhere and kept the same message.
The Battle of the Bulge seems to have stolen all of the thunder from Hurtgen Forest.
gabz, coolbreeze
St Ronnie and I were at Conspiracy Guy and Laura Earl’s wedding.
Couldn’t figure out which side of the aisle to sit on (because we knew them both but weren’t family) and so we sat in the middle.

The church had two aisles. Everybody sat in the middle ...8<)
...and I am happy to announce I should be rejoining and eating an actual real home cooked family meal again by this July 4th. My wife estimates that is about the time that I will have finished all the MRE's I purchased (thanks to Freeper Jethro Tull and other Freeper threads warnings) durring the FR Y2K "experience".
TLB Show, ugh. One of the "scream more" types.
Do you , or any other FReeper, remember who was responsible for the “Coke Is It” threads??
Lazamataz aka The "Newashman" aka ASH aka ReduxAsh aka at least five other screen names is a hoaxer who has been banned from posting to this forum. Not once, but many times. He will be banned again soon.
HE WILL, WHEN CHALLENGED, PRETEND INNOCENCE. His use of multiple aliases is, itself a hoax. He is an electronic crasher who is here AGAINST THE EXPRESS WISHES OF THE OWNER OF THIS FORUM.
Attempting to engage him in debate plays into his hands. He is here to create dissent and to disrupt the Free Republic. That is his pattern and the reason his posting privileges have been banned.
Please DO NOT respond in any way to him.
“Coke is it” was quidam.
Thank you!!
As we used to say at the movies, "this was where I came in..."
yes, I remember DITHF....
along with all those old names; ash, A+bert, et al...
Sherman Skolnick from Chicago (did he have a FRname?)
also remember folks posting George Putnam interviews....
and the “Day in the Life of George W” threads...
10 years ago egads, I’m OLD :0
you’ve got me tricked, you joined in November 2000, and made you first post:

how could you remember anything?
Ping
Fred,
I lurk a LOT, and read a lot.
It takes a lot to get me to post... usually when something keeps me up at night, like the BCert threads.
The thought of having an usurper in the WH just galls me; I love my country and hate to see it dragged down by that guy.
I googled my screenname and found it on a pinglist regarding SecondAmendmentSisters and Brothers of a New Destiny (B.O.N.D.) but when I logged in could not find any of my old posts from back in the time when we were protesting Gore (I had made some posts here for sign ideas)
Now that 0 is in the WH I consider the situation worse than BClintoon, and I must say something about it.
so here I am up at oh-dark-hundred... 3:30AM my time :0
I remember him dying. Never knew how it happened.
Followed that story at the time, but I don’t recall if there was ever a resolution...
Here lies our beloved Laz - who died from hitting everything in sight! ;)
Something nice about you, when you croak? SURE! That's easy!!
Will that do?
