With the long Memorial Day weekend on the horizon, President Obama is finally addressing one of the great broken promises of his administration: his early pledge to return home to Chicago every six weeks or so.

On Monday, Obama will make remarks at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, south of Chicago - missing the usual tradition of presidents speaking at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day.

I tend to agree with those who declare it is better that he not be there. The presence of “his munificence” would be an affront to our veterans and lord knows what he would say...

How appropriate that Obama skip Arlington and the traditional laying of the wreath. I would not want him to desecrate the sacred grounds of our fallen soldiers. As for me...I will watch Rolling Thunder as they head into DC and pay a sincere tribute to our heroes. They are dedicated in their search for POW’s and MIA’s. Rolling Thunder will not forget.
As for Obama let him go to the Mosque of his choice this weekend.

That was my first thought, too. He is unwilling to go through the humiliation again of getting the cold shoulder.

Our country has never experienced a bigger disgrace than this man who would rather spend Memorial weekend eating pizza and barbecuing with the Chicago gang, rather then pay homage and respect to those who have bought and paid for America's freedom.

While I agree it’s an insult of the highest order, it’s a toss-up for me which is the bigger insult.
1. Obama goes to Arlington and insults the memory of men who gave all by even showing up.
2. He doesn’t show up.
Frankly, it’s vile to me to see him feign appreciation for men he wouldn’t have seen fit to meet face to face in life.
Every event associated with the military that Obama attends, is chosen carefully to make him look like an honored CIC.
Screw it. The families are lucky not to have him anywhere near Arlington IMO. It would be a disgrace.

Agreed,this is great news that Arlington will not be besmirched on Memorial Day by the presence of the traitor.
How about a sarcastic email/letter/phone call campaign to the WH—in giant letters tell Zero “THANK YOU FOR NOT GOING TO ARLINGTON”. Continue in the vein of sarcasm by stressing how his presence there would be an insult to our honored dead and our living heroes, how he’d cast shame on the IWO JIMA Memorial being in the same vicinity of men and women who honored and loved America. Wish I had the money to put a big ad in the Washington Post along those lines.
I agree, but the way that I look at it is that Obama isn't even worthy of setting foot in such a place.

Good, his presence desecrates Arlington National Cemetary. No doubt he will choose to be buried there.
That said, he hates the military and America as Clinton also did. I would expect nothing less of the radical communist muslim apologist in chief than to insult the memory if every nember of the Armed Forces, living and dead, in this manner.
If the nation ever again elects a patriotic Democrat to the US presidency, I’ll donate $100 to the communist organization of Van Jones’s choice.

I hope that the driver of the presidential limo yells “Chinese Fire Drill!” in Chicago, and when he gets out, they just take off and leave him there.
