WASHINGTON The top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee warned Monday that he would seek to slow Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan's path to confirmation unless senators get full access to her files as a Clinton administration aide.
"We're heading to what could be a train wreck," Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama said. "I don't believe that this committee can go forward with an adequate hearing" without all records from Kagan's tenure as a White House counsel and then domestic policy adviser to President Bill Clinton.
Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., the Judiciary Committee chairman, last week set hearings to begin on June 28. Sessions said Republicans would ask for a delay unless senators get access to the tens of thousands of pages of Clinton-era records by then.
Sessions doesn't have a veto over the hearing schedule, but his threat set the stage for a potential partisan showdown over the documents and the pace of Kagan's confirmation process.

You malignant little twerp. You’ve been zotted and flagged.
I don’t expect to see you around under any screen name.
In the end, I fear, both will vote for her. Going along to get along. I pray I am wrong, though, and both grow spines to block this leftist twit.
For that to work, it would have to be someone who would not draw undue suspicion walking around with a large bulge in his pants. What Clinton possibly could pull this off?
The academics will try to spin it that Obama wasn’t given a chance, just like Marxism has never succeeded because “true Marxism” has never “really” been tried.
He’s a red diaper doper baby and his first goal is to upset the “history and traditions” of this nation by steering us as far off constitutional course as he can as quickly as possible. He’s on record feeling stunted by the Constitution keeping him from doing all he’d like to do. He knows that he CAN create new “constitutional” law by Supreme Court Gods decree and that has been a lifegoal of his to changing this nation to a socialist utopia.
guess it will take weeks to locate Sandy Berger and take an inventory of his pants...
Sessions is my fav Senator.

Finally!
I’ve been waiting for Sessions!
since she is replacing a leftist it won’t change anything but I hope the GOP Senators grill her and make her sweat.
She seems particlarly nasty but she doesn’t change the court make up.
Hmmm... There were a lot of people that assumed before Obama made his choice that he would nominated someone who would not make it through the process (get Borked). This way his second more radical choice would stand a better chance.
Now, I wonder if this nominee might be a double edge sword. First to provide cover for his real choice and to damage Hillary Clinton. I suspect some of the papers from the library are going to leave a dent and damage any chance of her running in 2012.
Interesting idea here. We have an opportunity to find out more about the underworkings of the Clintons and the plans of Emperor Zero.
I wonder if the records have anything to do with a birth certificate??
God bless Sen. Sessions for having the courage to speak up. I wish other Republicans would do the same.
Good thinkin’, Senator Sessions! Hope that works; it would
be the first time anyone saw some of those files! Could be
verrrrrrry interesting reading!
See tagline.
Did I miss something? Aren’t these files from Elena Kagan’s previous work - part of which was for Bill Clinton’s administration - which is why they are at the Bill Clinton Presidential Library? What does this have to do with Hillary’s Rose Law Firm files that were here and there in the WH and were supoenaed?
Finally!
Ive been waiting for Sessions!

A Good Man.. Fighting a force few dare challenge openly.
DeMint, Sessions and a few others may seem just that, a few.. but they speak for millions and for the preservation of the Republic.. or its latest ‘phase’ anyway..
True. I just wish GWB could have put just one more solid conservative on the bench. He couldn’t, though. Ginsberg just wouldn’t do the honorable thing and drop dead. (Yes, I know that is a dreadful thing to say. As she is an America hating leftist, she deserves it.)
