That was sarcasm he was doing there. He was making fun of the fact that even when we win someone claims they’re a Rino or a Paul nut or whatever. Some Freepers would be upset if you hung them with a new rope.

I would take a Republican landslide across the country, severely depressed Democrat base, preferably hard feelings among the two Left candidates keeping supporters from uniting and the Republican being highly popular to keep the seat for just ONE term.

Yes, probably won’t retain it. But it offsets the Murtha seat press and in a way offsets the NY race. This doesn’t seem all that different from what happened when conservatives and Republicans split support there and the Democrat won. That seat may well turn back Republican as this one turns Democrat.

We sent a message that this Congressional seat is owned by the people of Hawaii, not by any political party, union or special interest.

From Djou's press release on the election. Nice to see unions included negatively with political parties and special interests. Unions are becoming the fourth branch of government, and must be stopped right along with the dems.

...Djou is a RINO....

Arghhhhh.....we need an early warning RINO detector to veer RINOs off from the election and leave a space open so a Conservative can be elected.

Why do some people think that you can elect a South Carolina Conservative in a place like Hawaii?

Why do some people think the 50 yard line is an end zone?

Hold your cheers, Djou is a RINO, this is no victory /s

That was sarcasm he was doing there. He was making fun of the fact that even when we win someone claims they’re a Rino or a Paul nut or whatever. Some Freepers would be upset if you hung them with a new rope.

That is so true and why I do not have as much hope as I did for Nov.

It took awhile for most to even notice that is was sarcasm

you will not elect a strong Conservative to a dem district like this. If Scott Brown was a strong Conservative he would not have won the Mass seat. We will have to accept RINO’s in some parts of the country.

"We need to work together!!!"

No, we need to start a 12-step program for the milk-toast moderates to help them stop "reaching across the isle" causing everyone to lose more than is ever won through such political expediency that the left ALWAYS profits by and wins through!!!

Think about the history of this and learn from it, please!!!

He did do Fox a few months ago, Red Eye to be specific and asked them to come to his state for a visit and do the show.

Thats what they told us in California and look where RINO’s got us. When the Party shoves them down your throat like McCain you get pretty gun shy. (no pun intended)

Unless the Conservative purists and the Republican moderates can come to concensus, our country will be totally lost by the next Presidential election. Wake up and smell the Marxism!! We need to work together!!!

Djou won because the 60% Democrat majority in that district split their vote between two RATs, NOT because he was an “electable” RINO. Any Republican would have won in those circumstances. The Dems pull it off all the time when the Republican vote is split and they take over a majority GOP district (see the ‘94 Alaska Gubernatorial Election, 2009 special election for where a bunch of Republicans foolishly early voted for Dede ... add her 6% of the vote to Doug Hoffman's numbers and he wins, etc.)

If the Dems followed your logic that they “can't win” certain parts of the country without DINOs , they would have never gotten socialists like Kathleen Selibus elected in Kansas or Kent Conrad in North Dakota because they would have decided a that a pro-life, pro-gun, pro-WOT, small government DINO who constantly praised Dick Cheney was “the best they could get” due to those states being overwhelmingly Republican.

I'm not sure if Djou truly is a a RINO, as some are claiming — I haven't studied his positions closely enough. But I am tired of this defeatist attitude from conservatives that we “have to” run Democrat clones with an “R” next to name in majority Dem states. I do not look forward to having a bunch of new Linc Chafees and Arlen Specters on “our side” in the next Congress.
