Voting By The Mentally Disabled
Richard Moore

Posted on 05/21/2010 2:01:16 PM PDT by RichardMoore

I have recently learned that in my state developementall disabled adults have been, and will continue to be in the future, to the voting booths where they are assisted by staff in the voting booth. These people can not read and would not be found competent to serve jury duty. There ability to testify in court is questionable at best. And yet, they are encouraged to vote when they can't even tell one person from another on the ballot. It seems to me that this affords an excellent opportunity for the staff, who are over whelmingly pro-left wing nuts like Obama, to vote for whomever they want without anyone knowing the difference. My question is: how can this be correct?

I am totally disgusted that someone can take several individuals into a voting booth to assist them with their vote and thereby have the opportunity to vote by proxy several times.

How are they different from Democrats in general? They get led to a voting booth and vote multiple times, too...

It’s been legal for a very long time in all states as far as I know. It’s why in nursing homes those who can’t even remember their name are allowed to vote.

My aunt worked at a home for mentally-unsound seniors in Iowa, and she was aware that the home’s director registered them as Democrats and voted absentee in their place. All that’s required is a signature, and that was easy enough to get.

Just wondering, shouldn’t these infractions be reported?

Liberals seem to be very good at embracing an idea that is a sacred cow, such as universal sufferage, and advancing it to well beyond the point of absurdity. Again, we find that their main reason for doing this is to advance their political agenda.

Hence the story during November 2008 where the police had to be called to a nursing home after a patient said she wanted to vote for McCain/Palin and the “worker” marked the ballot for Barack the Kenyan/Rimshot Joe. She knocked the guy out.

Yes. And similar abuses occur in nursing homes. The staff may bully residents into voting the way the staff wants — always liberal Democrat — or they may take absentee ballots and fill it out as they prefer, even forging signatures as needed. These abuses are hard to stop because reliable witnesses and solid evidence are hard to obtain.

I worked in a group home in New Jersey twenty years ago and this was undoubtedly the case.

Fortunately, nobody in the group home I worked in was sufficiently motivated to register the guys and drag them to the polls, but it did go on in other group homes.

It was a given that all mentally challenged people had the lever pulled for the Democrats. Republican staff workers would obviously find such behavior unethical on its face and would never engage in it.
